Dr. Palacios, a co-founder and previous vice chair of NBPTS, holds the distinction of being the first Latina inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame. With over 30 years of teaching experience, she is a trailblazer in early childhood education and dual language learning. At Age of Learning, Dr. Palacios has for more than a decade played a pivotal role in curricular strategy, crafting age-appropriate learning activities, and creating content tailored for English language learners. Through this work, released by Shell Education, she offers invaluable advice and techniques to families with young children, emphasizing ways to enhance early learning experiences, nurture curiosity, and prepare them for school. She is also a founding member of the Texas National Board Coalition for Teaching Board of Directors and is currently their Treasurer and Professional Learning Facilitator, helping teachers to achieve National Board Certification.
Dr. Palacios will be presented the award by the NBPTS Board of Directors at a special event on November 16, 2023.
