LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'America's Got Talent' Season 18 has kicked off with stirring auditions in the hunt for the next best talent. The NBC show returned to TV on May 30, with celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofía Vergara, along with Terry Crews as the host.

The viewers have already seen several sensational acts progress to the next round after the performers the judges' approval in the previous episodes. Indonesian singer-songwriter Putri Ariani earning the golden buzzer with her performance of an original song was a highlight of Season 18. Having said that, there's more in stock for the viewers, as the upcoming audition episode will feature new performers eyeing the $1 million prize. Among the hopefuls is the group Freedom Singers.

Who are the Freedom Singers?

Freedom Singers is a musical group featuring incredible artists from in and around LA who have a deep passion for community and social justice. The members include Monoe, Pete White, Natosha Smith, Stasi, George Herod, Cassius Paxton, Nick Hilbert, and Micayla De Ette. According to the official website of LA CAN (Los Angeles Community Action Network), the Freedom Singers represent the musical wing of arts and culture comprised of residents of the Skid Row community. Moreover, the Freedom Singers acts as a platform to shift some of the negative narratives that Skid Row residents face regularly.

Micayla De Ette, a significant part of the group, is a passionate LA based-classically trained singer-songwriter, vocal coach, and the founder of De Ette Dream Productions. She has a degree in music ministries leadership from Bethany University and likes to sing several genres of music. De Ette acts as the vocal coach of the Freedom Singers and recently appeared on the 'Kelly Clarkson Show'.

Freedom Singers, a singing group consisting of Skid Row residents, is all set to appear on 'America's Got Talent' Season 18.
