LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actors require to master all kinds of skills before filming a stunt-heavy role but Anthony Ramos had to learn the basics of driving for his performance in 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts'. The 31-year-old 'Hamilton' star previously revealed that he got behind the wheel for the first time while filming the seventh edition of the multi-million ‘Transformer’ franchise, which is set to release on June 9.

The Emmy Award nominee admitted on the 'Spout' podcast that he never learned to drive because he grew up in New York and never felt the need to learn the skill. "I mean, I never [needed] it," he said. "Then, later on, Uber came. I was like, 'Whoa, what is this? You can use your phone to call a stranger, come and roll up to your crib.'" Ramos added that he realized he needed to have his papers in order before he could begin filming 'Transformers', so he decided to take the necessary steps to get his driver’s license.

'I'm very proud'

"My director is like, 'The car, we need you to drive it,'" the actor told host Tamara Dhia, adding "I had like a two week-window to try and book a road test and pass." In another interview, the 'In the Heights' star revealed that he is very proud of his accomplishment after so many years. "I'm very proud," Ramos continued, adding, "It's one of the biggest accomplishments of my entire life." Ramos’ co-star and close friend Dominique Fishback then revealed that she still doesn’t have a driving license. "Hopefully Anthony can teach me," Fishback joked.

The ‘Rise of The Beasts’, which centers on Optimus Prime, is a sequel to the Hailee Steinfeld-led origin story ‘Bumblebee’ from 2018. The live-action film series based on the '80s Hasbro franchise began with 2007's 'Transformers', starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. Talking about his role, Ramos recently told Collider that “It feels like the beginning of a new thing, which feels amazing. Steven Caple Jr, our director, is amazing. Dominique Fishback, Pete Davidson, and the cast are insane. I’m just grateful to be there.”

'I’m excited to see the robots'

“I’m excited to see those scenes, especially in Peru. I’m excited to see New York City and Brooklyn in Transformers. I’m excited to see African Americans and Latinos, like Tobe Nwigwe, Dominique Fishback, and all of us in this movie. We even snuck my mom in the movie,” he further stated. Ramos also revealed that his mother and brother are also in the movie for just a few mini-scenes. “We even snuck my mom in the movie. My brother is in a little scene with Tobe. Just being able to have those family vibes, I’m most excited to see that. And then, I’m excited to see the robots. With some of these scenes, I felt crazy. I was over here talking to no one and nothing,” he noted.
