If you’ve been waiting for the iPhone 15 to upgrade your phone, it looks like you only have a few more weeks to wait. In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman says this year's event will be held "either Sept. 12 or Sept. 13."
That's in line with Apple’s traditional announcement schedule and also tracks with a recent report from 9to5Mac, which says “mobile carriers have been asking employees not to take days off on September 13 due to a major smartphone announcement."
If Apple sticks with its typical release schedule, a Sept. 12 or 13 announcement (Tuesday or Wednesday) would lead to pre-orders for the device starting on Sept. 15, and the phone itself launching on Sept. 22. Apple has not yet made any announcements.
We’ve already heard a good amount about what to expect from the next generation of the iPhone. This year, like most, the phone will probably get an upgraded processor as well as an improved camera. We also expect every version of the iPhone 15 to have a Dynamic Island rather than a notch as well as a smaller bezel and charging via USB-C rather than Apple’s Lightning charger.
The iPhone 15 is also rumored to be more expensive than its predecessors at launch to help offset the cost of the device's updated features.
