LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nothing would make Ben Affleck happier than for his son to root for his favorite Boston sports teams. The 'Triple Frontier' actor claimed that he has tried everything to get his son Samuel to support the New England Patriots during his appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on Thursday. "We're really excited because we're from Boston and this a big deal, and the Red Sox, and I'm giving them the whole history," the 'Batman v Superman' actor explained.
However, what his son said next shocked him. "Dad, you're from Boston, I'm from LA," Samuel said, which sent Affleck into what he described as an "existential crisis." The Academy Award winner couldn't let the problem go, so he asked his Boston friends to remodel his son's room "to help him understand where he comes from, if not literally, then at least spiritually," as reported by House Beautiful.
'Jennifer Garner thinks it's creepy'
Following that, Affleck posted images of his son's room, which features a big football slide with the Patriots logo on it and a chair modeled after quarterback Tom Brady of the Patriots. Kimmel responded, "That is Tom Brady… you know, my ex-wife [Jennifer Garner] thinks it's creepy," he revealed. "It is creepy," Kimmel said in response. Samuel Garner Affleck was born on 27 February 2012 in Los Angeles, as per reports.
Since divorcing in 2015, the former couple has had a cordial relationship with each other and has both stayed in Los Angeles to provide their children easy access to both of their parents. Violet, 17, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 11, have seen significant changes in recent years, as they now have a new family on their father's side, including twins Emme and Max, 14, who will become their stepsiblings in 2022, and Jennifer Lopez, who will become their stepmother.
