New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan says he plans on helping quarterback Derek Carr make a return to Las Vegas … for the Super Bowl.

The New Orleans Saints tried to find their successor for quarterback Drew Brees, who retired after the 2020 season. Trying out Jameis Winston, Taysom Hill, Trevor Siemian, and Andy Dalton, but to no avail. So this offseason, they had their eyes set on one of the top quarterbacks that became available after the 2022 season — Derek Carr. After getting released by the Las Vegas Raiders, the Saints signed him to a four-year, $150 million contract to lead the team in what has become a wide-open NFC South.

As it turns out, the expectations are much higher than that for one player.

During an appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio, Saints defensive end Cam Jordan said he expects to win every game this season. Specifically, Jordan said he expects the team to help Carr make a return to Las Vegas…for Super Bowl 58.

Carr had spent the entirety of his career with the Raiders, even during the team's move from Oakland to Las Vegas. Even though incoming general manager Dave Ziegler signed Carr to a contract extension well ahead of the 2022 season, he and head coach Josh McDaniels decided to move on from him. So, McDaniels announced that Carr would sit the team's final two games of the season, even though the team was still in playoff contention.

In 15 games played, Carr threw for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions while completing 60.8 percent of his passes.

During the offseason, the Raiders sought out teams who were interested in acquiring Car in a trade. One team that Carr spoke with was the Saints, but when a trade package was presented, Carr turned it down. Afterward, the Raiders released Carr from his contract, allowing him to sign with a team well before the start of the 2023 league year in March. The Saints and Carr then agreed to terms on a multi-year deal.

Now, Carr will have the likes of Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Jamaal Williams to lean upon on offense. As of now, Carr is the oldest starting quarterback in the NFC South, with the Carolina Panthers expected to lean upon first-overall pick Bryce Young, the Atlanta Falcons giving the proverbial keys to the car to second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers holding a competition between Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask.

It would certainly be something if at Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11, 2024, Carr was competing for the Lombardi Trophy, but in a Saints uniform.
