LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Euphoria' has been one of the most extraordinary shows in recent years and garnered a lot of acclaim for its epic storytelling and impeccable performances, especially Zendaya. HBO has left no stone unturned to market the series as one of their flagship shows and it continues to give them fruitful results in terms of viewership. However, if you are a fan and eagerly waiting for Season 3 of the HBO series, then we have some bad news for you.
The network has announced that the third season of the Zendaya-led series won't be airing until 2025 and it looks like the ongoing writers' strike is why the show would be getting delayed.

'Euphoria' Season 3 won't be airing until 2025
In an interview with Deadline, HBO's head of drama, Francesca Orsi, opened up about several shows that fans are excited about and when they can expect to see their favorite characters back on screen. She made it clear that several shows "wouldn't necessarily be ready" if the writers' strike lasted for "six to nine months."
"At this point, those shows that I’m looking to air wouldn’t necessarily be ready if this strike lasts six to nine months. So yes, that’s a big question for us, but I think we’ll cross that road once we come to it," Orsi said. Unfortunately, 'Euphoria' is one of the shows that would be pushed back to 2025.
As per Orsi, the writing on 'Euphoria' began in tandem with the post-production on 'The Idol', but the network doesn't have enough material to start working on the show. On the other hand, Sam Levinson's commitment to 'The Idol' and Zendaya's packed schedule also play an important role in the show getting delayed once again.
"Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on Idol but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts. We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show — ideally in 2025 — will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on 'The Idol'," Orsi said.
'I simply can't wait this long'
Fans are devastated after hearing that the Zendaya-led series and shared their disappointment on social media. One of the fans tweeted, "nooooooo i simply can not wait this long." Another fan said, "are you kidding that’s so far away." Another user wrote, "3 years for one season bro come on." Some fans were so furious that they started requesting HBO to cancel the series because they cannot wait for 2 more years for a show like 'Euphoria'.
One user wrote, "I don't understand it's not even like that hard of a show to make so like why does every season take like 3 years... it's no longer interesting." Another social media user tweeted, "Honestly… cancel the show and call it a day. It’s unreasonable to have people nearing thirty, in their thirties, and or nearing FOURTY playing teens. S3 should’ve already been written and should be currently filming. And tbh it should be the last season regardless." Another user tweeted, "bro at this point they shouldn’t even release it."
Viewers had to wait two-and-a-half years for the second season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The first season aired in 2020 while the second one finished its run in 2022. Now, they would have to wait even longer for Season 3.
A lot of shows have currently announced that they have stopped working on the upcoming seasons due to the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America (WGA). The strike began on May 2 after WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) were not able to reach an agreement on the new film TV contract. Since then, shows such as 'Stranger Things', 'Abbott Elementary', 'Cobra Kai', 'Yellowjackets' and more have announced that they are on 'hiatus' and writers will only start working once they get the assurance that they will get a fair deal.
This means audiences would have to wait a little longer to see their favorite shows back on television.
