Can't Afford the Real Tesla Cybertruck? The Kids Version Is Just $1,500

Tesla delivered its first dozen Cybertrucks this week, but if the $60,990 starting price is too expensive, can we interest you in a mini version of the EV?

Alongside the Cybertruck rollout, Tesla on Thursday released the Cybertruck for Kids. Made “for kids on earth,” the $1,500 all-electric ride-on toy works essentially as a miniature version of the original. It has an adjustable seat, rear-wheel drive, electric braking, and LED head and tail lights. The truck is powered by a lithium-ion battery and gets 12 miles of range at a top speed of 10mph

It’s also a bit bigger than your standard Power Wheel. Tesla says the truck can comfortably seat two people, and is suitable for drivers ages 6-12 under 150 pounds.

Deliveries of the truck will purportedly begin later this month with no promises that they’ll arrive before the holidays. The miniature Cybertruck is also currently out of stock, but you can sign up to be notified when it's back.

The Cybertruck isn’t the only Tesla-themed gift available for youngsters this holiday season. Last month, Tesla and Radio Flyer announced the return of its Cyberquad for Kids — another kid version of a product that hasn’t made its way into adult hands yet. The original $1,900 kids Cyberquad was recalled last year due to safety concerns; the Consumer Product Safety Commission claimed the device was a Youth ATV rather than a “ride-on toy.” The new version of the toy is recommended for children ages 9-12 and is not recommended for off-road use.

Unlike the child version of the Cybertruck, the mini Cyberquad is available now for $1,900.
