'Can't believe this is a real pitch': 'Shark Tank' fans slam Tank Sinatra who failed to defend his sales

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After a two-week hiatus, the final episode of 'Shark Tank' Season 14 aired on ABC on May 19. As an avid 'Shark Tank' fan went in to kick off the episode, his pitch angered followers, who accused the show of fabrication.

The Season 14 finale of 'Shark Tank' featured entrepreneur George "Tank" Resch, who entered the tank in order to seek a life-changing investment for his board game Influencers in the Wild. While George is well-known on social media for his memes running the Instagram account Tank. Sinatra came up with the idea of Influencers in the Wild after watching how individuals are prepared to go to any extent for likes and views. Influencers in the Wild is an entertaining adult-themed board game for ages 17 and above that may be played by two to six players at the same time. Fans were perplexed not just by the 'boring' board game, but also by the entire pitch.

'We're so new I made the number up'

Tank Sinatra created the board game, Influencers in the Wild, which features a girl snapping a selfie like an influencer. Tank was asking for $500K for a 10% investment and stated that the purpose of the game is to obtain the most followers.

All the Sharks have stated that they are aware of him, and Shark Mark Cuban noted that he follows him. Tank shared that he enjoys comedy and is a fan of 'Shark Tank', thus he wanted to create a tangible product to sell.

So far, Tank has said he has sold 1,500 pieces, which astonished the investors because this is far from enough. Tank first assumed his target was college students, but after further investigation, he discovered that the majority of interest was coming from those between the ages of 25 and 44. Tank stated that he has never sold directly to consumers and that the broker has sold $140,000 in items.

Because of the figures, Shark Mark does not believe the product is excellent and decided to leave. Shark Lori Greiner stated that she enjoys social media, but she is unsure if anyone would enjoy the game, and hence decides not to invest. Shark Kevin O'Leary also opted not to invest in the venture. Shark Barbara Corcoran believes Tank is asking too much of his investment after only selling 1,500 peices thus far. Shark Daymond John had also opted out, leaving Tank with no money from any of the investors!

'Tank had no clue what he was doing'

Reacting to Tank's pitch one viewer tweeted, "… Sharks seem no-nonsense with this guy and his 1,500 sales, especially Mr. Wonderful." Another person said, "Seems like one of the dumbest items ever on Shark Tank." While calling it a prank, one wrote, "I can't believe this is a real pitch. This is up there with the worst, most pointless, dumb products I've ever seen on here. And tank had no clue what he was doing. This looked more like a prank than anything real. Wow." Calling out on the quality of the product, one person tweeted, "This is not a long lasting product. No way any of the sharks investing in this influencer board game."

One fan couldn't help but ask, "I’m sorry but how did this product make it pass the vetting process #SharkTank." Another added, "This guy just got a free consultation lol his business was not ready for the Shark Tank. Like, how have you watched since the first season like the rest of us and didn’t bring the Sharks numbers and success to leverage for their investment?"

On Reddit, the feelings were somewhat the same. One wondered, "A board game? Seriously? And a very terrible board game at that? When a product like this gets on air, I assume someone's agent owes someone a huge favor, or someone has blackmail pictures of someone." Another added, "He’s a big fan of the show, but cannot defend his numbers at all. Hmmm…" One asked, "Is this guy joking, why is he even on the show?? Is he their roids dealer? There are literally no words." Another added, "It's incredibly sus that he was put on the show, plus the Sharks all pretending to know him and praising his talent. Someone is being paid off."

'Shark Tank' airs new episodes on ABC every Friday at 8 pm ET. Missed an episode? Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand, or on Hulu. Besides, you can watch old seasons and episodes on Amazon Prime Video and iTunes.
