Charli D’Amelio slammed for not crediting rapper Lady Leshurr in TikTok video

Charli D’Amelio recently created a video on British rapper Lady Leshurr’s viral song "Queen’s Speech 4". Now the TikToker is under fire for failing to credit the rapper in her most recent lip-syncing videos and has come under scrutiny. The rapper has created a fuss about it and targeted the young TikToker.

D'Amelio is the platform’s second-most-followed creator, and as a result of this, her videos garner quite a bit of attention, no matter what they’re about. Her Lady Leshurr song's viral video has received 305.3K likes and 4703 comments since she posted it.

'My name will be wiped from history'

Although the video appears straightforward, the song's author didn't appreciate D'Amelio using her song without giving her proper credit. D'Amelio's TikTok only links to a "original sound," which takes visitors to a page of other TikTokers who have also used the "original sound" from Lady Leshurr's song, in contrast to TikTok, which regularly displays music from videos, DEXERTO repported.

Leshurr specifically referred to Charli in a video on April 30 by saying in the title, “POV: The newer generation will never know who sings this song eventually, ’cause my name will be wiped from history.”

'Don't need a tag for using a song lmao'

Lady Leshurr's opinions on appropriate credit have drawn criticism from a large number of online users, many of whom assert that TikTok's song-crediting culture has evolved. "Don't needa tag for using a song lmao," a user commented under Leshurr's video. A D'Amelio fan added, "Better be thankful that she is using u song."

"When u click on the sound it says ‘contains music from lady leshurr," another one added informing how to check the audio credit.

The rapper replied to the user in another video with a caption, "Replying to @user7703895401469 it only changed because of my video ? bare in mind anyone could’ve used the original sound but ppl reupload my music to have their name there instead #fyp".
