“The 2022 CPR created more SLED leadership interest and attention than we had expected,” said Jack Danahy, VP of Strategy and Innovation at NuHarbor Security and former CPR leader. “As masthead sponsors, we believe the best way to capitalize on that exposure is to put the report in the hands of a recognized leader. Curt’s experience in Massachusetts, his national reputation, and his personal knowledge of the challenges facing the SLED community make him the perfect person to direct this year’s report.”
Wood served as Massachusetts’ CIO from 2018 to January 2023, capping a distinguished 40-year career with the Commonwealth. As a Cabinet Secretary, he oversaw the Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS), which included the strategy and operations of both IT and cybersecurity for the Commonwealth’s executive branch and agencies.
“Since meeting with Justin Fimlaid and the team from NuHarbor, I’ve been impressed with their commitment to the SLED space and to improving cybersecurity awareness and defense,” Wood said. “I’m acutely aware of the specific challenges SLED leaders face and am confident that this report will continue to drive meaningful change and new insights in the upcoming report.”
The annual SLED CPR provides quantitative and qualitative data identifying the unique needs, challenges, and trends among SLED cybersecurity leaders. It fosters awareness and community development across the SLED community as organizations work to ensure the availability and integrity of services relied upon by their users. The newest edition of the report will launch in early 2024.
The 2022 SLED CPR shone a light on the evolution of visionary security leaders. Read the 2022 SLED CPR and watch the webinar where cybersecurity experts dug into the findings.
