LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Selling Sunset' star Jason Oppenheim is once again single after splitting up with his model girlfriend Marie-Lou Nurk, 25, after ten months. On Wednesday, Jason posted a social media announcement of their breakup, claiming that their relationship was too difficult to handle because of distance.
While Jason is based in Hollywood, Marie-Lou divides her time between Paris and Los Angeles, as per TMZ. "While we still love and care about each other very much the distance between us has proven to be too great a challenge to overcome," Jason wrote on his Instagram story alongside a photo of the pair watching the sunset. The same post was shared by Nurk on her Instagram story.
'We remain close friends and continue to talk often'
He continued, "We remain close friends and continue to talk often and support each other and we want the very best for one another. We thank everyone for their support throughout our relationship." The couple had first met in July last while on vacation in Mykonos, Greece. After jet-setting around the globe, Jason and Marie-Lou moved into a new luxury condo in Los Angeles together. The 5,500-square-foot space was listed last year for $18 million making it the most expensive condo listing in Los Angeles in 2022, as per People.
Before meeting Marie-Lou, Jason dated Chrishell Stause, his 'Selling Sunset' co-star. However, the duo eventually broke up because Jason wasn't interested in starting a family when Stause deeply wanted that, as per a media report. The 'Selling Sunset' star and his now ex-girlfriend Nurk made their relationship official on Instagram. The former couple was spotted attending an LA movie premiere together in August. Nurk also appears in the current sixth season of her hit Netflix show. In September, however, Nurk told Vogue that she was having less privacy after her relationship with Oppenheim, although the appearance in the show had her excited.
'It look like we had just been married'
Earlier this month, the former pair sparked marriage rumors after they posted a series of pictures from an event on Instagram. The post initially read, "Here's to a lifetime of adventures," but was later changed to "You always make me smile." Even many posted congratulatory messages with some complaining why they were not invited. Oppenheim came clear and told a media outlet, "Lou and I quickly realized that our post on Instagram made it look like we had just been married. We received numerous congratulatory texts, as well as angry texts from friends asking why they weren't invited, so quickly changed the caption! All these photos were from an event that we went to together a couple of months ago."
