NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Donna Kelce opened up about the rumors her son Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift in a recent interview with 'Today' show co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie as she revealed "it was OK" meeting the pop star which has now received reactions from social media users.
During the interview on Friday, October 6, Donna added that she cannot tell if the duo have a "budding romance" as it is "just too new."
Donna Kelce thinks Taylor Swift is 'down to earth'
When asked about being pictured alongside the Grammy Winner and they were seen hugging as they watched Travis play, Donna gave few details and mostly remained tight-lipped.
"I don’t like to talk about it. It’s just one of those things where everyone saw me. I was in the boxes with her. It’s another thing that’s amped up my life," the 70-year-old said.
Talking about Donna and Taylor getting along, an insider said, "Donna likes Taylor and thinks she’s very sweet and down to earth," reported OK Magazine.
Another source noted that the Kansas City Chiefs star and the 'Love Story' songstress are talking every day and they are only getting started.
"Taylor’s really enjoying getting to know Travis," spilled the source.
"They’re taking it day by day, but she has high hopes. She likes that he’s a normal, nice guy. He’s down-to-earth and isn't affected by fame," the source explained of Taylor.
"Taylor is at a point in her life where she’s no longer willing to hold back. If something feels right — like it does with Travis — she’s jumping in with both feet. She’s very happy and loving life right now," another insider added.
"Following her heart comes naturally to Taylor, and she doesn’t think about the consequences or the optics of [cheering him on]. She’s doing what she wants to do, and it’s a breath of fresh air all around," said a fourth source.
Internet says 'Donna Kelce sounds annoyed by Taylor Swift'
After Donna's comment on meeting the 'Cruel Summer' singer as an "OK" experience, swifties and social media users rallied to react to her interview.
"Not a great answer…Donna sounds annoyed by Taylor. She could have tried a bit harder. If I am Taylor I won’t be in the same box again. Before Taylor, Donna has been open to many other things with her sons that amped up her life," a fan tweeted.
One user wrote, "Seem like she really doesn't want to talk about Taylor!" while another wrote, "Donna Kelce, is a natural publicist! - "It was okay." lmao".
While many commented on Donna's way of recalling her time with Taylor, few users noted her being uncomfortable answering about her son's dating life on the show.
"Stop asking her about Taylor and ask her about her sons. This is way ridiculous," one user opined while someone wrote, "This was gross the way you kept pushing this woman who was clearly uncomfortable and not wanting to talk about it, to talk about her son's personal romantic life. Do better."
