Experts paint sad and desolate picture of Britney Spears' life after conservatorship

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears’s life after conservatorship is under scrutiny and specialists say there is a “lovely and a caring woman” underneath who is going through a lot of “suffering.” However, the silver lining is that she is a “brilliant” performer but “this illness is just getting in the way.

As ‘TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom’ premieres on Monday, May 15 on Fox, specialists including physician and addiction specialist Dr Drew Pinsky, Psychiatrist Dr Charles Sophy, and news director Brad Appleton discuss Princess of Pop’s condition. The ‘Oops!…I Did It Again’ singer, who came out of conservatorship in 2021, has been posting bizarre dance videos on her Instagram profile of late. The videos have generated concerns among her fans regarding the ‘Sometimes’ singer’s mental health.

'Britney Spears' family wanted to stage intervention over fears 'she's going to die', fans say 'leave this woman alone!'

In the clip shared by TMZ, which also facilitated the investigation, Dr Drew Pinsky, who is a physician and addiction specialist says about Britney, “Look at the woman there, the suffering she is going through, the isolation, then also look at her for what she is, and try to keep in mind, she is a brilliant performer.” He further continues, “This is a lovely woman, this is somebody who is trying to manage her life, and she has a lot of her and this illness is just getting in the way.”

Dr Drew said, “It is very common to people with these kinds of illnesses to minimize their need for help.” He then added, “Sometimes they have to stumble, they have to make mistakes, and they are scared when they do,” but they are “scared to prove to themselves that they do need help”

TMZ news director Brad Appleton says, “A key to keep mental illness in check is to know you need help.” Psychiatrist Dr Charles Sophy, on the other hand, says, “She feels helpless, that’s why she is out there screaming and yelling for people to understand her position, where she’s at, how she feels, how violated she felt, and take revenge of it.” “Whether it's accurate or not, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that is her perception, and she is desperately looking for people to understand her.”

'But you are a performer'

In August 2022, the ‘Hold Me Closer’ singer shared in a now-deleted social media post, "It's crazy, social media. Everybody's life seems so perfect and when I post things I think most of the time I've been utterly and completely embarrassed of my past ... and who can forget those documentaries???”

She further continues, "So yes, I do try and post me looking my best or what it may seem to be the good life. Well the truth is, my spirits are better but I will forever be traumatized by my past experience for life. There is no way to fix me, my emotions and my sensitivity ... therapy, all of it !!! I think I will need some sort of miracle for my emotions,” before adding, "My life is by no means picture perfect. I cry myself to sleep most nights. I'm insecure as hell. I don't know how to have good posture unless I'm on camera, and I need to go to a school just to be taught how to freaking walk. I know you say "but you are a performer". Well that's it !!! It's an act on stage. In real life, I have no clue and I'm working on that," reports Marca.

'I don't know why she so sad'

One irate social media user commented, "If she recovers from methamphetamine use, she may not feel so helpless." Another fan wondered about the cause of Britney's unhappiness, "I don't know why she so sad. With her money I would have a nice house overlooking an Alaska lake. I would spend most of my days on the snowmobile, hiking, hot tub, sipping coffee and playing Xbox beside the fireplace." While the third put forth another explanation to the controversy, "Or? Maybe she’s just happy & too many people in life enjoy lying & trying to exploit her."

The fourth quipped in, "Seems like she was doing better with the conservatorship." Another retorted, "So you asked celebrity doctors to read her tweets/instagram posts and make a diagnosis? Well I guess she feels like this cause she didn't capitalize. Anything to keep exploiting folks."
