AUSTIN, TEXAS: A video clip of Mike Perry and Joe Rogan on the latter's podcast show, 'The Joe Rogan Experience,' has gone viral on social media, prompting many MMA fans to troll the UFC commentator over his "Thrilla in Manila" statement.

Mike Perry is a professional MMA fighter who currently competes in the Middleweight class of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Prior to his stint in BKFC, Perry fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and had 15 fights in the organization.

'That was in Africa'

Perry recently appeared on the popular show. During their conversation, they discussed the historic 'Thrilla in Manila' fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier but incorrectly stated that it took place in Africa. Perry questioned Rogan, "The 'Thrilla in Manilla', that was in Africa, right?"

Instead of correcting him, Rogan supported Perry's statement on the podcast saying, "Yeah, that was in Africa." However, the world heavyweight championship actually was contested on October 1, 1975, in the Philippine Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. The Araneta Coliseum was renamed specifically for the match. Fans spotted the error and flocked to Twitter to troll Rogan and Perry. A user shared the clip writing, "Perry: The Thrilla in Manila was in Africa, right? Rogan: Yeah, it was in Africa."

'Two f**king coconuts'

MMA fans expressed their discontent with the mistake made by Mike Perry and Joe Rogan. One fan wrote, "Two f**king coconuts."

Another individual commented on the podcast host's statement, suggesting that he was under the influence of drugs. The comment read, "Stoners think this guy knows things."

One believed the two might have confused the 'Rumble in the Jungle' fight with the 'Thrilla in Manila' fight, "I mean they’re literally just thinking of rumble in the jungle… regular old honest mistake."
