CORAL SPRINGS, FLORIDA: A domestic dispute between two brothers in Florida took a dangerous turn when one allegedly pulled a firearm, resulting in charges of assault with a deadly weapon. The incident occurred on August 13 at a residence near the 300 block of 118th Avenue, prompting a swift response from the Coral Springs Police Department.

According to authorities, officers arrived at the scene after receiving reports of an aggravated assault with injuries involving a firearm. The confrontation involved Frank Kim, a 41-year-old Coral Springs resident, and his brother, whose identity remains undisclosed.

Frank Kim's altercation with his brother

Initial reports reveal that the dispute stemmed from a disagreement over bathroom privileges. Frank Kim claimed that the altercation began when his brother returned home and requested to use the bathroom.

However, Frank was in the process of cleaning the bathroom and requested his brother to wait, setting off a heated exchange between the siblings.

The verbal argument escalated, with both individuals allegedly throwing household items, including a speaker. Frank Kim stated that in an attempt to defend himself, he swatted away the speaker, inadvertently injuring his right thumb in the process.

As the situation escalated, Frank Kim reportedly drew a firearm in self-defense, although he denied racking the gun or pointing it at his brother. His account differs from that of his brother's.

Did Frank Kim pull a gun on his brother?

According to the victim's statement, both brothers engaged in a physical altercation involving thrown objects. The victim alleged that Frank Kim had drawn the firearm, racking it, and pointing it in his direction while making threats.

Fearing for his safety, the victim managed to escape the residence and promptly called 911. The incident occurred in the presence of the siblings' mother, adding to the complexity of the situation.

Upon investigating the incident and conducting interviews with all parties involved, including the parents, law enforcement determined that there was probable cause to believe Frank Kim had committed the offense of aggravated assault with a firearm. It was concluded that his actions were not solely in self-defense.

Following the investigation, Frank Kim was taken into custody and transported to Broward Health Coral Springs for medical treatment and clearance. He reported injuries to his right thumb and abdominal pain.

Upon medical clearance, he was subsequently transported to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail, according to Coral Springs Talk.

Another Florida man episode

Last month, MEAWW reported how a Florida man was arrested for bombing his dad's home for objecting to an affair with his jailed brother's girlfriend.

The unrelated incident saw another family conflict take a dangerous turn, resulting in the detonation of an explosive device at a residence in Deltona, FL. Christopher Cruz Ayala, the son of the victim of the explosion, and Jason Smith were both implicated in the incident, according to investigators from the Deltona Police Department.

The detonation, which was captured on surveillance cameras, occurred when an explosive device crafted from copper foil, a firework, and a bottle of Don Julio tequila was thrown through a front bedroom window of a residence on Covington Drive.

The explosion caused significant damage to the property and raised concerns about the potential harm that could have been inflicted on occupants. The incident was triggered by an argument within the family over Christopher Cruz Ayala's relationship with his brother's girlfriend, who was imprisoned at the time.
