SAULT STE, MICHIGAN: A shocking incident unfolded at the Sault Ste. Marie Post in Michigan, leaving authorities bewildered and concerned for the safety of their troopers.
Three Michigan State Police patrol cars were destroyed in a deliberate act of arson, sending shockwaves through the department.

"The suspect was injured and has been taken by ambulance to My Michigan Medical Center where he is being treated for his injuries," he added.

Fortunately, no troopers were present at the post when a 39-year-old individual from Florida, later identified as the arsonist, carried out this destructive act.
The assailant not only doused the cruisers with gasoline but also set them ablaze before resorting to firing shots at them with a rifle.
After an extensive investigation and following up on numerous tips, law enforcement managed to locate the suspect just south of Sault Ste. Marie the following day.
When a search warrant was executed, the suspect opened fire toward troopers, prompting them to return fire.
As a result, the assailant sustained injuries and was subsequently hospitalized. His identity has not been disclosed.

The assailant's presence was first detected when he drove into the driveway of the MSP Sault Ste. Marie posted around 3:15 am on that fateful Wednesday, on September 6.
He proceeded to douse several patrol vehicles with gasoline and then set them ablaze. Surveillance footage captured him retrieving a rifle from his SUV and firing multiple rounds into and around the patrol vehicles.
