After its recent success, the Fortnite OG map is likely staying as a playable UEFN map in Fortnite Chapter 5.

To no one's surprise, Fortnite OG has taken over the gaming world. The return of iconic Chapter 1 maps from 2017 and 2018 have brought an unprecedented number of players to Epic Games' Battle Royale. The shortened season is supposed to only be a limited-time experience, but new leaks suggest the map could be sticking around thanks to UEFN.

Here's how the Fortnite OG map is staying in Fortnite past November.

Fortnite OG Map Likely Staying in Chapter 5 As UEFN Map

Although the Fortnite OG map is technically only playable until Chapter 5 drops in December, leakers believe it is likely staying in UEFN. After so many old players and content creators returned to Fortnite, Epic Games has a huge incentive to keep the map available in their Battle Royale.

Fortnite leaker, Egyptian Fortnite Leaker, posted, "[Fortnite OG's] map should be available separately as an editable island in Creative Royale, meaning that creators will be able to create their own experiences on the Chapter 1-fused map."

The theory aligns with Epic Games' weekly updates to Fortnite OG, frequently switching up the weapons, map, and vehicles available in each returning season. If creators indeed get this type of freedom, the map will likely take over Fortnite Creative 2.0.

The leak also revealed the map's separate ID for Creative, meaning that "the CH1 map will still be playable in Creative after the end of the season."

It looks like those worried about never getting to experience the Fortnite OG map after November 2023 no longer have to worry.

When Does Fortnite OG End?

Fortnite OG ends on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023. At the time of writing, players have less than three weeks to enjoy the current state of Fortnite before Chapter 5 Season 1 arrives.

The next Chapter will not continue the throwback season, but rather introduce an entirely new map after recent lore suggests Dr. Slone is looking for an escape off the previous island. A live event will likely usher in the major update after Fortnite OG concludes.
