Georgia commit endears himself quickly with savage shot at Florida

Georgia football commit Jordan Hall quickly endeared himself to the UGA fanbase with a ruthless takedown of the Florida Gators.

The hatred that bonds Georgia and Florida is a special breed of hatred. The two teams won't even play on their home fields. Every year, the two powerhouse SEC programs meet at a neutral site in Jacksonville, FL to wage war.

Well, that war has been rather lopsided in recent years. UGA has won five of the last six bouts with Florida. The Bulldogs also happen to be two-time reigning champs with the preeminent recruiter in all of college sports at the helm in Kirby Smart.

Jordan Hall, UGA's new freshman commit on the defensive line, grew up in Florida. He was set to pick between UGA and UF and he opted for the out-of-state option. When asked why, he offered up a rather thorough takedown of the Gators' football program.

Georgia football commit dunks on Florida in wild, endearing interview

"Really Florida talked about a lot of nothing… Georgia talked about a lot of something," Hall told the Real Talk Georgia Podcast (h/t On3 Sports). That alone is quite the statement — a sizzling takedown of his hometown school and a ringing endorsement of UGA's program. But, that's not where Hall stopped.

"They're going to put people in the league. Florida ain't put a D-lineman in the league since Taven Bryan. And he's terrible. So hey, I'm going to Georgia. And that's really what it was."

Taven Bryan, who is currently employed by the Indianapolis Colts, caught a stray. As did the entire Florida football program. Hall is clearly not only confident enough in his abilities to make this kind of statement, but he is extremely confident in UGA as a place to grow and develop his game.

"Everything is work, earn what you get and keep working," he said. The Bulldogs have been home to the single most dominant defensive line in college football for a couple years now. And Hall is right: UGA will put guys in the league.

Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Trevon Walker have all been selected in the first round of the NFL Draft during UGA's back-to-back title run. All three played on the D-line. It's clear Jordan Hall would like his name to join that list down the road.

Of course, the talent on UGA's roster can be something of a double-edged sword for hopeful recruits. It all sounds great on paper — competition in practice, a great coach, championship aspirations. But, we have seen multiple five-star recruits get buried under the sheer volume of quality players at UGA and eventually seek the transfer portal. Hall, the No. 25 prospect in the country, will have to prove his value in practice before he ever sees the field.
