LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Good Morning America' star Robin Roberts is the latest victim of a slight wardrobe blunder on live air. The 62-year-old is halfway across the world in Berlin, Germany reporting on the Special Olympics for ABC and while tending to her duties on the air, Robin avoided a wardrobe blunder. In doing so, she interrupted her co-host, Michael Strahan, who was completing his chain of thought from the comfort of his seat behind the desk in New York.

Robin has been actively reporting about the ongoing Special Olympics and has been on the streets of Berlin, talking to supporters and fans, gaining valuable insights to report back to the ABC studio in America. Although during Friday, June 16, broadcast of the morning show, Robin was on the air, reporting live from Berlin as Michael questioned her about the atmosphere in Berlin. And before she could respond, she saved her wardrobe blunder with an umbrella.

‘Gotta save the hair’

Robin was interviewing athletes that were participating in the Special Olympics. While Robin was also talking to the co-hosts back in New York City, she felt some rain. Michael mentioned that Robin spoke some German while in the country and loved how much fun she was having. He continued, “The feeling that these athletes bring is not just being competitive but it's a family no matter what country they're from. That must be amazing to be a part of.”

Before Michael could continue further, Robin interrupted their conversation by grabbing an umbrella so she could "save her hair" from the rain before continuing to respond to the former NFL star's statement as everyone back at the studio laughed. Robin’s quick thinking allowed her to save her look as she continued reporting and responding to Michael’s statement.

Who has been filling in for Robin?

Robin has been enjoying her summer in Europe, even though it's a work trip. While she’s missing from the studio, her place is often taken by Rebecca Jarvis, Linsey Davis, and a few others in the New York studio. However, recently a new face was seen occurring Robin’s seat in the studio. Mary Bruce, ABC News Chief White House Correspondent, took Robin’s spot next to Michael and George Stephanopoulos. She’s not a recognizable face on the morning show but has been a part of the ABC family for a while.

The Special Olympics in Berlin are expected to conclude on June 25, 2023.
