GMA's George Stephanopoulos misses gun violence rally as daughters Elliott and Harper make rare appearance

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Good Morning America’ host George Stephanopoulos was recently missing from a gun violence awareness rally. The 62-year-old political commentator and former Democratic advisor was nowhere to be seen with his wife, Ali Wentworth, and their two daughters, Harper and Elliott. George, who has been anchoring 'GMA' with Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan for a few years, is known to keep his daughters out of the spotlight, a decision that his wife, Ali, completely agrees with and adheres to.

But in a complete turnaround, Ali brought Elliott and Harper to a gun violence awareness rally which went against their belief of bringing their daughters into the gaze of social media and paparazzi. Nevertheless, Elliott and Harper were present for a noble cause and their mother took some time to acknowledge their presence and share her daughter’s rare appearance on her social media.

'Every day, 120 Americans are killed with guns'

Harper and Elliott wore orange as they attended a rally hosted by Moms Demand Action, a grassroots organization dedicated to the prevention of gun violence with their mother. Ali was extremely delighted to be rooting for a great cause that impacts Americans every day. She took to Instagram to share her thoughts and post the snaps from the event which included a photo of Harper and Elliott. She captioned the post, “Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day, and I #WearOrange to call attention to stop the senseless gun violence that runs rampant in America and honor those who have been affected. Every day, 120 Americans are killed with guns. This needs to end. Shoutout to @everytown and @momsdemand for the work they do to make our world safer."

She ended her post with, “However, there is still a long way to go and we need everyone to get involved. Please visit these accounts and take action in whatever way you can.”

One of Ali’s photos had the famous Hollywood actresses Julianne Moore and Tracy Pollan who were present at the rally, dressed in orange, to support the cause. However, the last photo in her post was of Harper and Elliott who stood with an ‘End Gun Violence’ sign.

Harper and Elliott maintain a low profile

Ali and Elliott are usually away from the spotlight, courtesy of a parenting decision by George and Ali. But the two daughters keep posting a few updates from their life on their respective Instagram profiles. Elliott is currently attending Brown University and Harper who just graduated from high school is set to attend college in the fall while George is expected to continue his stint as a co-anchor on 'GMA'.
