Father of teen missing for nearly two months speaks out after polygraph test
Father of teen missing for nearly two months speaks out after polygraph test
The father of a 13-year-old Wisconsin boy who went missing nearly two months ago has passed a polygraph test examining his possible involvement in the teen's disappearance. The teenager, James Yoblonski, reportedly disappeared in a possible attempt live "off the grid." William Yoblonski, of Reedsburg, said that he was given a polygraph test by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office on Thursday morning, according to WKOW. The father is reportedly not considered a suspect in the teen's disappearance, according to The New York Post. “Maybe that’ll relieve people,” he told the outlet. “I had nothing to do with my son’s disappearance.” Mr Yoblonski said last year that he would remortgage a $10,000 reward for information leading to the return of his son. He said it has been especially difficult to deal with his son's disappearance knowing that suspicion has been cast on him as the culprit. “You know you’re innocent but yet here we are doing this [polygraph]," he said following the test. He said he was surprised by some of the questions that he was asked, such as whether or not he knew where James was, or if he had "anything to do with James' disappearance." Mr Yoblonski said now that he has passed the polygraph, he hopes that attention will return to his son's disappearance. “At first, I was upset, but now that I know that proves that I’m innocent and I had nothing to do with it, it’s a relief in a little,” he told WKOW. Members of the Sauk County Sheriff's Office told WiscNews last month that they believe the teen ran off to become an"off the grid" survivalist. The 13-year-old reportedly took the family's van and disappeared. When the van was found abandoned later the same day he disappeared, investigators found evidence of a makeshift camp they believed was made by the boy at Devil's Lake State Park. They also found some of the teen's belongings buried near the site, though they did not find James. The FBI has not joined in on the investigation since the teen's disappearance. Deputies are expanding their search beyond the Wisconsin border after finding evidence on his internet search history of methods for traveling out of the state. “Investigators have followed up with each of these browser searches including physical searches of several areas,” Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister said. “These follow-ups have not produced any evidence that James was ever physically present at these locations after his disappearance.” In the meantime, Mr Yoblonski has found himself with few avenues for bringing his son home. “I don’t know what to do anymore,” he told WKOW. “I just keep looking because it’s all I can do.” "I just want him home," he said. An Elon Musk biopic is in the works – and no one's excited
It has been confirmed by Variety that an Elon Musk biopic is in the works at A24, and it doesn't seem many people are excited. The announcement came yesterday from Puck, with Darren Aronofsky on board to direct the film. Aronofsky is known for directing films such as The Whale, Black Swan, and Requiem for a Dream. The basis for the screenplay will be based on Walter Isaacson's authorised biography of the Twitter/X CEO. Isaacson's book on Steve Jobs was previously adapted into a movie by Universal. Musk responded to the announcement saying: "Glad Darren is doing it. He is one of the best." But whilst Musk may be happy about the news, he seems like one of the only ones. Many joked to "bring back the strike", in reference to the recent end of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Another joked that the film was going to be a horror: One user gave their suggestion for a title: "How to Kill Twitter Without Really Trying". However, some felt hopeful that the portrayal of Musk would not be a favourable one: We'll just have to wait and see how the film turns out... Business as usual for Fleetwood as former chairman is jailed
Business as usual for Fleetwood as former chairman is jailed
Fleetwood will continue to go about the club’s normal business following the sentencing of former chairman Andy Pilley. Pilley, who stepped down as chairman and director of the League One club during May after being convicted on four counts of fraud, appeared at Preston Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday. He was found guilty of two counts of fraudulent trading, fraud by false representation and being involved in the acquisition, retention, use or control of the proceeds of fraudulently mis-sold energy contracts. Also chairman of BES Utilities, Pilley had been involved in High Court litigation with Cheshire West and Chester Council, but lost a civil court fight over investigating allegations of mis-selling. At the Crown Court sentencing, the 53-year-old, who had been was remanded in custody, was jailed for a total of 13 years and was also disqualified from being a director for 13 years. Pilley had been the chairman and owner of Fleetwood for 20 years and overseen the club’s rise from non-league status to the English Football League. Fleetwood, who finished 13th last season, had already announced the club were in discussions surrounding a change of ownership and control which remain ongoing. A statement on Tuesday afternoon read: “Fleetwood Town Football Club acknowledges the sentencing in the court case involving former club chairman, Andy Pilley. “The club would like to reiterate convictions are against individuals and not Fleetwood Town FC, or any of the businesses associated with them, and will continue to operate as normal. “Fleetwood Town remain in communication with the EFL and will be making no further comment at this time.” Read More Charity boss speaks out over ‘traumatic’ encounter with royal aide Ukraine war’s heaviest fight rages in east - follow live

Made us look like amateurs – Max Verstappen hits out over raft of deleted laps
Made us look like amateurs – Max Verstappen hits out over raft of deleted laps
Max Verstappen accused Formula One’s referee of making the sport’s superstars look like “amateurs” in qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix. Verstappen put his Red Bull on pole position for Sunday’s 71-lap race in Spielberg after he saw off a late flurry from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Carlos Sainz starts third in the other scarlet car ahead of Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton who qualified fourth and fifth respectively. Verstappen’s Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez finished only 15th after all three of his laps in Q2 were deleted for exceeding track limits. Verstappen also had four runs scrubbed off by the stewards for putting his Red Bull over the white lines. In all, an extraordinary 47 laps were deleted by race director Niels Wittich. “This is a joke,” said Verstappen over the radio. “Honestly, with these track limits, f****** ridiculous.” Verstappen managed to fend off Leclerc by just 0.048 sec, but moments after he stepped out of his Red Bull, the Dutch driver took aim at Wittich’s refereeing. “Today, it was very silly,” he said. “It made us look like amateurs with the amount of laps that were being deleted and some of them were so marginal. “We spoke about it in the briefing before, and when it is very marginal, it is impossible to judge if the car is out or in, and yet laps were still getting deleted. It was not a good look today. “People will say, ‘you should have kept the car in the white lines’. If it was that easy, you can take my car and try it, but you probably wouldn’t get up to speed in time.” A Remote Operation Centre in Geneva consisting of six officials – FIA’s answer to football’s VAR system – flag up contentious laps to Race Control at the circuit using various camera angles. Wittich then has the final say. It is understood that if the laps in question are marginal, Wittich will lean in favour of the driver. But Verstappen continued: “We don’t do this on purpose. With these speeds and the high-speed corners it is so hard to judge where the white line is and that is why a lot of people got caught out. “My first lap in Q3 was just a banker lap which takes out the joy. Today showed that it is not easy to have a clear rule about it.” Despite the row, reigning world champion Verstappen will be favourite to take his seventh victory from the nine rounds so far this season and extend his 69-point championship lead over struggling team-mate Perez. Behind the Dutchman, Norris impressed to take fourth spot in his revamped McLaren, one place ahead of Hamilton who finished 0.428 sec adrift of Verstappen. The Red Bull Ring is hosting F1’s second sprint event of the year with a shortened qualifying and race to follow on Saturday before Sunday’s main event. “Our car has not suited this circuit in the past and it showed again today,” said Hamilton. “It was a really tough and difficult session but we got through it, thank God. “We will try to do better in sprint qualifying tomorrow, and then fifth on Sunday is a strong position to start from.” Hamilton’s Mercedes team-mate George Russell managed only 11th on a disappointing afternoon for the Briton.
