The solar system is famously vast, but new data from scientists has revealed that it extends even further than once thought. It is a discovery that was made thanks to distant objects that were spotted during a scan of telescope images. They appeared to show faint signs of rock located beyond Pluto, suggesting that the material of the solar system extends further into interstellar space than was previously believed. The new method of looking at telescope images has dispelled decades of hypotheses from astronomers who believed that the Kuiper Belt, a circumstellar disc in the outer solar system, becomes suddenly more sparse from 48 times the distance between Earth and the Sun. But, belts of rubble have now been seen extending out more than twice the distance experts previously thought. The discovery was made by a team of astronomers who were led by Canada's Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre who were on a mission to find new targets for the probe “New Horizons” to explore on its way through the outer reaches of the solar system. With light at the end of the solar system in short supply, experts realised if they stacked multiple images taken at different times, they could combine the light to increase the visibility of an object, increasing its visibility. Using machine learning to help them on their way, experts trained the system before testing it with real data captured from the Subaru Telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. In comparison to humans, the technology identified more than double the amount of Kuiper Belt Objects, revealing to experts just how vast the solar system is. They presented their findings at the 54th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference 2023. While the team’s results have not yet been peer-reviewed, they appear to suggest that our solar system has a minimum of two rings of material stretching as far as the distance Pluto is from planet Earth. Andrew Tate revealed on Twitter/X that the next guest on his 'Emergency Meeting' podcast will be Lord Miles, a YouTuber known for travelling to dangerous places who was arrested by the Taliban earlier this year. Lord Miles, also known as Miles Routledge, is a 22-year-old student and investment banking intern from Birmingham, UK, who takes part in 'danger tourism', where he travels to dangerous places for fun. Tate announced Routledge would be on his podcast in a recent tweet, calling Routledge "the embodiment of the British spirit of adventure, returning home with stories to tell." Tate's 'Emergency Meeting' podcast is hosted on Rumble, the streaming platform that has signed an exclusive deal with Tate as well as other creators such as Russell Brand and iShowSpeed. Tate often shares his perspectives on global issues on 'Emergency Meeting', as well as offering insights into his life. Perhaps as expected, Tate is known for having guests on the show that align with his ideologies. Routledge was released by the Taliban in June 2023, after being arrested in Afghanistan in March 2023. During his imprisonment updates came from a social media account claiming to be run by a friend of Routledge's. At the time, people thought Routledge was dead or that the whole thing was a scam. The podcast episode was streamed on October 15, during which Routledge shared his experiences with Tate, and Tate revealed that he has been "banned from every banking institution on the planet." Saying that he's on a "politically exposed persons list" and that "because I have expressed opinions on the internet, I'm not allowed to have a bank account anywhere." The pair discussed the Taliban, calling the terrorist group a "form of law and order", with Miles calling his arrest "very professional" and saying he couldn't reveal more for security reasons. Sheffield United have no immediate plans to sack Paul Heckingbottom after the club suffered their heaviest league defeat when they were hammered 8-0 by Newcastle.
