Ron DeSantis expressed concerns about how not to “piss off” supporters of President Donald Trump in a leaked video from when he was a candidate for Florida governor in 2018. In the footage obtained by ABC News, Republican Representative Matt Gaetz asked Mr DeSantis, then a congressman, in a debate preparation: “Is there any issue upon which you disagree with President Trump?” In response, Mr DeSantis sighed and said: “I have to figure out how to do this.” “Obviously there is because, I mean, I voted contrary to him in the Congress,” he said. “I have to frame it in a way that's not going to piss off all his voters.” Mr DeSantis had won the Republican primary largely on the back of his full-throated support of Mr Trump, even cutting an ad with him building a mock version of Mr Trump’s proposed wall on the US-Mexico border with his young child. He had also appeared on Fox News repeatedly, ultimately earning Mr Trump’s endorsement. Mr DeSantis ultimately says he would respond to the question by saying he would “do what I think is right” and “support [Trump's] agenda.” “If I have a disagreement, I talk to him in private,” Mr DeSantis said. The clip is part of nearly two and a half hours of internal tapes from Mr DeSantis’s debate prep sessions. The leak comes as Mr DeSantis prepares to announce his candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination for president, wherein he will run against Mr Trump. Since then, though, Mr Gaetz and fellow Florida Republican Representative Byron Donalds have gotten behind Mr Trump instead of Mr DeSantis, along with a slew of other Republicans from Florida’s delegation. OpenAI has launched a ChatGPT app for iPhone users amid a surge in fake versions of its hugely popular AI chatbot. The free app is the first official OpenAI product to appear in app stores, though dozens of imitation versions seeking to mislead or scam users are currently available for iOS and Android users. The new ChatGPT app is available immediately in the US and will roll out to other countries in the coming weeks, OpenAI said, with an Android version of the ChatGPT app also under development. “With the ChatGPT app for iOS, we’re taking another step towards our mission by transforming state-of-the-art research into useful tools that empower people, while continuously making them more accessible,” OpenAI wrote in a blog post detailing the new app. “We’re eager to see how you use the app. As we gather user feedback, we’re committed to continuous feature and safety improvements for ChatGPT.” Users who download the app will have access to their ChatGPT account history from the web, as well as access to OpenAI’s open-source speech-recognition system Whisper. This will allow people to speak to the artificial intelligence tool for the first time. Subscribers to ChatGPT Plus will also get access to the more advanced GPT-4 tool, as well as faster response times compared to free users. Chief executive Richard Masters has confirmed the Premier League is investigating Chelsea regarding “historic” financial issues that the club reported. It was reported on Tuesday the Blues are the subject of a Premier League investigation for alleged breaches of financial regulations during Roman Abramovich’s time at the club. Current owners Todd Boehly and the Clearlake Capital Consortium, who took over last summer after Abramovich was forced to sell following sanctions as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, reportedly flagged the potential issue to the Premier League and Football Association themselves. That now appears to have been confirmed by Masters, who said: “We don’t comment on investigations unless they are out in the public domain. You obviously know who has been charged, that much is clear. “We have been pretty open about the historic issues with regard to Chelsea because they self-reported to the Premier League and to the FA so it is obvious we are looking into that.” UEFA announced last month it had been approached “proactively” by the club, who agreed to pay 10million euros (£8.57million) to Europe’s governing body after owning up to “incomplete financial reporting” between 2012 and 2019.
