Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has pledged to fight to keep the “irreplaceable” Kyle Walker after an approach from Bayern Munich. Walker’s place in the side became less secure in last season’s treble-winning campaign as a new system was introduced which often involved fielding four centre-backs with one stepping into a midfield role in possession. Gareth Southgate praised Trent Alexander-Arnold for buying into England’s midfield experiment and showing what he was capable of in the comfortable win away to Malta. The 24-year-old may be an established star at Liverpool but he has often flattered to deceive with the national team, with intense competition at right-back restricting opportunities. Alexander-Arnold struggled in a midfield against Andorra when Southgate tried him there in September 2021, but things worked far better in Malta as he won just his 19th cap on Friday evening. The England star had a hand in all three first-half goals, including curling home superbly either side of Ferdinando Apap’s own goal and a Harry Kane penalty. The latest alteration the South African billionaire is making to the site, which he payed $44 billion for in 2022 is to rebrand it as 'X.' No, that's not a typo or a placeholder for a name we've forgot to put in, that's literally what Musk is planning to call Twitter from now on. It follows in Musk's long-standing obsession with the word (Space X, Tesla Model X his own child X Æ A-12) having already brought the X.com domain name which just redirects you to Twitter. Musk announced on Sunday "X.com now points to twitter.com. Interim X logo goes live later today." At the time of writing the change hasn't gone ahead but the switch shouldn't come as a surprise as Twitter's company name was changed to X Holdings Corp in April.
