Video showing how vapes are made might put people off for life
The phenomenon of vaping has well and truly taken off but a new video showing how they are created has got people swearing off them for life. Disposable vapes are promoted as an alternative to smoking and their popularity has exploded in recent years, particularly among young people. But as more people who have never smoked start to take up vaping, concern is growing around their impact on our health and the environment. With a vast array of colours and fruity flavours, some believe they are too attractive to young people and teenagers. In February, it was also revealed that vapes on the market in the UK made by Elf Bar exceeded the legal nicotine limit by 50 per cent. Now, a behind-the-scenes look at how such vapes are made has left people shocked and vowing to never smoke a vape again. The video was shared on YouTube and showed the manufacturing process in action. Elf bar?!Is Disposable vape manufacturer | vape factory | Puff bar Disposable vape factory www.youtube.com One particular part of the video that caught people’s attention appeared to show the mouthpiece being applied by hand by workers who are not wearing any gloves. Under the video, one viewer commented: “Well, that doesn’t look very appetizing, how they attach the mouthpieces without gloves. “That was definitely the last one I bought after seeing that.” Another person wrote: “You are telling me that they are touching the tips of the vape without any glove on?? “Didn't they know that their hands release grease constantly so imagine while working? Bruuuh I would not buy these lol I ain't looking to have a stranger's finger print on my vape tips when I buy it.” Another said: “That's nasty no gloves when putting the top on that you breathe in through. No thanks stay away from vapes all together.” “Where's the gloves?” another person asked. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. Sandro Tonali’s reported ban brings calls for ’empathy and support’ from charity
Asking a footballer who is addicted to gambling to play in stadiums plastered in betting logos is akin to making an alcoholic work in a pub, campaigners have said. The Big Step campaign, part of the Gambling With Lives charity, has said Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali deserves “empathy and support” for his gambling rather than a 10-month ban. Italian football federation (FIGC) president Gabriele Gravina said on Thursday the 23-year-old had been suspended for 10 months and ordered to undertake a further eight-month rehabilitation programme, according to reports in Italy. The player’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, has said his client is living with a gambling addiction. The PFA is understood to be working with and continuing to support Tonali. “Footballers are human and if they are suffering from addiction they deserve empathy and support, not lengthy bans,” the Big Step said in a statement issued to the PA news agency. “Every football game is wall-to-wall with gambling ads, not just across shirts but around stadiums and related media content. “Sending someone addicted to gambling into this environment is like sending an alcoholic to work in a pub. If you force young footballers to endorse addictive products then don’t be surprised if they use them. “Ending all gambling advertising and sponsorship in football, including all parts of the shirt and in every stadium, will help to prevent harm to those on and off the pitch.” Gravina told reporters: “An agreement has been reached between the federal prosecutor and Sandro Tonali. “The plea agreement is for 18 months, of which eight months is for rehabilitation, which involves therapeutic activity and making at least 16 public appearances. “The rules call for a certain number of years of suspension, but the plea bargain and extenuating circumstances have been taken into consideration and the players’ collaboration went above and beyond, therefore we must continue to respect the rules we have established for ourselves.” Tonali was one of several players named in the FIGC’s investigation, which also saw Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli banned for seven months. Backlash after Doja Cat tells army of fans to drop 'Kittenz' nickname
Backlash after Doja Cat tells army of fans to drop 'Kittenz' nickname
Doja Cat is facing a backlash after speaking out about the practice of pop stars’ obsessive fan bases using collective nicknames to describe themselves. Taylor Swift has the "Swifties", Ariana Grande has the "Arianators" and Lady Gaga has the "Little Monsters". And until recently, Doja Cat had the "Kittenz". However, in a now-deleted post on social media platform Threads, the pop star said: “My fans don’t name themselves s***. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f***ing ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.” The backlash was strong and immediate, in the latest instance of hordes of devoted fans getting just a teensy bit too invested in what musicians say and do. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter One of her fan accounts, The Kittenz Web, said: “Just delete the entire account and rethink everything. It’s never too late.” Another fan on Twitter said: “Imagine telling your fans to get a job when they are the ones that buy your music, merch and concert tickets.” Another asked on Threads if she could tell her fans that she loves them. Doja Cat replied: “I don’t though cuz I don’t even know y’all.” One fan hit back: “And we don’t know you. But we have supported you through thick and thin. Mind you, you’d be nothing without us.” But Doja wasn’t having it. She said: “Nobody forced you. IDK why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother... You sound like a crazy person.” The singer eventually deleted her account on the platform following the backlash. It’s not the first time 27-year-old Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, has been forced to stand up for herself in the face of fanatical social media followers. She was previously accused of blocking people who weighed in on her relationship with Twitch streamer J Cyrus. “I DONT GIVE A F**K WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE,” she wrote on Instagram. “I NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL GIVE A F**K WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ME OR MY PERSONAL LIFE.” Meanwhile Doja Cat fan pages like Doja HQ, The Kittens Room and Doja Cat News have all deactivated their accounts since the most recent incident. The Grammy award winning musician is expected to release her fourth studio album later this year. According to reports, that will likely steer away from the pop music she has previously released and draw more from hip-hop and R&B. Have your say in our news democracy.
