Old Megan Rapinoe autograph video has men raging about her all over again
Old Megan Rapinoe autograph video has men raging about her all over again
Megan Rapinoe is facing the wrath of men on the internet again, this time over an old clip of her singing an autograph. Rapinoe has been in the news again recently after the USA crashed out of the Women’s World Cup on penalties. After the result, Donald Trump reignited his feud with the football icon after the defending champions suffered a shock loss to Sweden, marking the first time the USA have failed to make it to the semi-finals of the competition. Trump, who has hit out at Rapinoe on plenty of occasions in the past, took to Truth Social to criticise Rapinoe after the final result in an unhinged rant. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter She’s faced criticism from elsewhere too since the USA were kicked out of the tournament, and now people are returning to an old clip. The likes of Piers Morgan and tennis player Nick Kyrgios have posted the footage of Rapinoe signing a young boy’s football at the 2019 ESPY awards in Los Angeles. Rapinoe, who had just won the World Cup with the USA at the time, signs the ball and then hands it back to him without looking at the boy. Morgan posted the video with the caption: “Doesn’t even look at him. Diabolical arrogance.” Kyrgios replied: “Hahahahahaha one thing me and Piers agree on.” The clip was also posted by Oli London who wrote: “Imagine being such an arrogant Narcissist that you don’t even look at a young fan and acknowledge them when signing a ball. “This is Megan Rapinoe in a nut shell.” It comes after Trump hit out at Rapinoe by writing on Truth Social: “The 'shocking and totally unexpected' loss by the U.S. Women's Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden [sic]. “Many of our players were openly hostile to America - No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close.” He added: “WOKE EQUALS FAILURE. “Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Supreme Court rules Alabama discriminated against Black voters in major victory for voting rights
Supreme Court rules Alabama discriminated against Black voters in major victory for voting rights
In a victory for voting rights and Alabama voters, the US Supreme Court has ruled that the state likely violated the Voting Rights Act with a congressional redistricting plan that diluted the voting power of Black voters. The state likely discriminated against Black voters with a newly drafted map that packs most of the state’s Black residents into a single district, out of seven, despite Black residents making up 27 per cent of the state’s population. A key ruling in the case of Allen v Milligan means that the state will have to re-draw its congressional map to include a second majority-Black district. The surprise 5-4 decision on the conservative-majority panel was written by Chief Justice John Roberts, joined by liberal Justices Elena Kagan, Ketanji Brown Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor, with partial but crucial concurrence from conservative Brett Kavanaugh. In January, a lower court determined that the map significantly dilutes Black residents’ political power and ordered the state to draw new political boundaries that would create at least two districts in which Black voters would be more likely to elect a representative that more closely resembles the state’s demographics. The Voting Rights Act was drafted to prevent that kind of race-based dilution of Black voters. But attorneys for the state argued the opposite – that considering race to redraw political boundaries would mark an unconstitutional consideration of “racial targets” and “race-based sorting”, in violation of the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause. A decision that sided with Alabama attorneys would have radically reduced Black voters’ political power and landed a critical blow to a state with a long history of racist violence and discrimination. Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act prohibits voting laws and election policies from discriminating on the basis of race. The state’s suggestion that “race should play no role whatsoever” to determine whether redistricting plans violate Section 2 would “rewrite” the law and “overturn decades of settled precedent,” according to the map’s challengers. Attorneys for President Joe Biden’s administration argue that Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act should be considered when “pervasive racial politics would otherwise deny minority voters equal electoral opportunities.” The map’s challengers argued that is precisely what is at stake in Alabama. Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer release date confirmed
Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer release date confirmed
Rockstar Games have announced an early Christmas present for all gamers: the first trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6. In a surprise statement, the founder of Rockstar Games said: "Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games… In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution. "We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you." Not only does the trailer coincide with the anniversary of the company it has also been just over 10 years since Grand Theft Auto V was released in September 2013. Behind Minecraft, GTA V is the best-selling game of all-time. Fans of the highly popular series have been left waiting for an announcement of the next installment for quite some time but did get an indication of what the game might look like in September 2022, when the title was subject to a massive leak. More than 90 videos, which were confirmed as legitimate, were leaked online which showed features such as new shooting mechanics and the series' first-ever female protagonist. Although the name of the new game is yet to be announced, speculation already suggests that it will hit shelves in December 2024 but Dexerto reports that an insider has suggested that it could be pushed back as far as 2026. With nothing being made official about the game yet its hard to know what it will look like or how it will play however fans can expect one of the biggest maps in gaming history. Gaming industry expert, Michael Pachter went on the record in March 2022 stating: "My understanding is that it is a mashup of Vice City, San Andreas, Liberty City, and Europe. London for sure.” He also added that there will be "400-500 hours" of gameplay. All the anticipation has prompted a deluge of memes on X/Twitter about the announcement. With no official date for the trailer or when the actual game will come out, we'll just have to watch this space for any further announcements.
