Mark Zuckerberg means 'serious business' after posing topless with UFC champions
Mark Zuckerberg is seemingly in beast mode ahead of his rumoured fight with fellow tech mogul Elon Musk after he was spotted training with UFC champions. On Wednesday (12 July), fighters Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski shared a topless snap with the Meta boss. "No fugazi with Mark," Adesanya wrote. "This is Serious Business‼️" The post was also shared on Instagram, where Zuckerberg commented: "It’s an honor to train with you guys!" Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter It comes after Lex Fridman shared a glimpse into his "impromptu training session" with Musk. The computer scientist and artificial intelligence researcher complimented Musk's "strength, power and skill, on the feet and on the ground." He added: "It's really inspiring to see Elon and Mark doing martial arts, but I think the world is served far better if they train martial arts but not fight in the cage. That said, as Elon says, the most entertaining outcome is the most likely... I'm there for them, no matter what." Of course, the back-and-forth has been prompted by the pair seemingly agreeing to a fight, after Musk said he was "up for a cage match" ahead of Zuckerberg's Twitter-rival app, Threads. Zuckerberg responded with a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the caption "send me location". Things have since heated up, with Musk calling Zuck a "cuck". Musk responded to a screenshot of a Threads post saying: "Hey @zuck, you should go to space just to make him really mad lol." Zuckerberg replied with a crying laughing emoji, which prompted Musk to write on Twitter: "Zuck is a cuck." He also went on to reply to a Twitter parody account that called Zuckerberg "lizard boy". The real question on everyone's mind, is who would win? Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg offered 'death' match by wrestling company
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg offered 'death' match by wrestling company
Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have been offered the chance to have their fight in a 'Domo De La Muerte' match by the Mexican Lucha Libre (professional wrestling) promotion AAA. Musk and Zuckerberg, the owners of Twitter and Facebook respectively, have 'agreed' to have a cage fight against each other after the challenge was laid down by the Telsa and SpaceX CEO. Zuckerberg, who is trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, appeared to respond to the South African billionaire, writing 'send me location' in an Instagram post. It's unknown if this fight will actually take place but if it does they could settle their differences in the six-sided ring of AAA, which was originally known as Asistencia, Asesoría y Administración de Espectáculos. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In a tweet, the promotion, which was formed in 1992 and boasts stars such as El Hijo del Vikingo, Fenix and Pentagon Jr on its roster, wrote: "Hey, @elonmusk... We got an idea: Musk Vs Zuckerberg, Domo de la Muerte, #TriplemaniaXXXI" For those that don't speak Spanish, 'Domo De La Muerte' translates as 'dome of death' which is basically a cage with a domed roof over the ring, which is full of weapons. Although this would be great to see we can't imagine that Musk or Zuckerberg would be keen to go through with this but the option does appear to be there for a Triplemania XXXI match on July 15th should they want to. Meanwhile, Musk has been offered the assistance of controversial influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate, who has offered to train the former richest man in the world for the upcoming Zuckerberg fight. 5 times Mary Earps proved she was a national treasure
5 times Mary Earps proved she was a national treasure
The Lionesses gave their all during the Women’s World Cup and none have made a bigger impression than Mary Earps. The goalkeeper bailed England out on plenty of occasions and brought fans some of the best moments of the tournament. Most of all, though, the Manchester United player powered the team through with sheer force of personality, playing a key part in England’s run to the final. The likes of Lauren Hemp, Alessia Russo and Lauren James also impressed, but it was the keeper that gave us the something to cheer during the final despite the result. Earps won the 2023 Women’s World Cup golden glove – which is even more remarkable to think that she came close to quitting the sport entirely until coach Sarina Wiegman gave her a chance in the side before the Euros. These are five times she proved she was a national treasure. Her rant during the final Earps became an instant viral sensation after launching into a very sweary rant immediately after saving a penalty against Spain. It proved the standout moment for England during a disappointing 1-0 defeat. The shot-stopper saved a penalty from Spain's Jenni Hermoso in the final and reacted by shouting "f***ing yes, f*** off." It was the only real moment fans had to celebrate during the game. She’s a TikTok star @england The bona fide queen of TikTok: Mary Earps ? #england #Lionesses #FIFAWWC Fans have more insight into life in the England camp than ever before, and that’s partly due to Earps and her behind-the-scenes videos on TikTok. “I’m known as TikTok Queen,” she said recently, talking about entertaining her 868,000 followers. “I think TikTok just suits my personality and it gives people a real insight into who I am as a person, but also what the team’s like… you see a lot of training pictures and things like that - who we are as people and who were are as human beings. If I see anything that documents our journey then I might make a little video of it.” Dancing on the tables after the Euros 'It's coming home!' England players storm press conference chanting slogan | #WEURO2022 | Lionesses www.youtube.com The Lionesses raised the profile of the women’s game back in 2022 after winning the Euros, and the celebrations stretched out into the days after the game. One of the best moments saw the entire England team gatecrash coach Wiegman’s press conference, and who was the one to lead the chanting and dance on the table? Earps, of course. Getting a badger named after her You know you’re reaching national treasure status when things are named in your honour – and a baby beaver was named after the goalkeeper in honour of England reaching the World Cup final. The kit was born at the National Trust’s Holnicote Estate, near Exmoor, in Somerset, and joins siblings Russo, Toone and Rashford. Earps is the sixth member of the family born at an enclosure known as Paddocks, with twins – named Moss and Fern – born at a second enclosure nearby. Members of the public were invited to help name the three kits, with the final decision made by the ranger team on the estate. Earps is the younger sibling of Rashford, the first beaver born on Exmoor for 400 years, who was named after Manchester United player Marcus Rashford in 2021. He was followed by twins Russo and Toone, named after Lionesses Alessia Russo and Ella Toone, last summer. The kit debacle One of the biggest talking points before the tournament was Earps and her campaign to get the England goalkeeper shirt available for people to buy. Fans have been unable to purchase the shirt, with Nike deciding it wasn’t profitable to sell them. It led them to launch petitions with more than 65,000 signatures and even make their own shirts at home. Speaking earlier this summer about Nike’s decision not to sell the shirt, Earps said: “I can't really sugarcoat this any way so I'm not going to try, it's hugely disappointing and very hurtful. “It's something that I've been fighting behind closed doors. I've been desperately trying to find a solution with the FA and with Nike.” She added: “Unfortunately it's become very evident that is not possible and there's not going to be an acceptable solution for the young kids out there. On a personal level it's obviously hugely hurtful, considering the last 12 months especially. “For my own family, friends and loved ones not to be able to buy my shirt, they're just going to come out and wear normal clothes. All my team-mates, they've ordered a lot of shirts for their friends and family, they're talking at the dinner table 'I wasn't able to get this' and I'm saying 'I wasn't able to get it at all'. “I know there's a lot of people who have spent a tremendous amount of money on outfield shirts and then put '1 Earps' on the back, which doesn't sit well with me either. “It's a very scary message that's being sent to goalkeepers worldwide that 'you're not important'. A lesson I've learned is that I should have made a public statement sooner maybe. I look back on it and I've tried everything. I offered to fund it myself and my team-mates have been really supportive.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Have your say in our news democracy. You’re asking the wrong person – Emma Hayes not interested in title permutations
You’re asking the wrong person – Emma Hayes not interested in title permutations
Chelsea boss Emma Hayes insists she has no time to monitor the Women’s Super League table, despite a scenario that could see her side seal a fourth straight title on Sunday. The second-placed Blues, fresh from lifting their third consecutive FA Cup, are one point behind Manchester United, but have a game in hand on the league leaders, who have just two remaining in their campaign. That means victory against West Ham on Tuesday and Arsenal on Sunday would be enough for Chelsea should United fail to beat Manchester City on the penultimate day of the season. Hayes was adamant she is unaware of how invested her players might be in potential permutations, saying: “I promise you I’ve got so much to do I’m not privy to some of their ridiculous conversations, thank goodness. “They don’t want me being part of them anyway. We’re all football fans too, but I know the dressing room and, as far as we’re concerned, we’re in control of what we want to do and that’s I think all we focus on. “I didn’t even realise we could go top if we won tomorrow until someone told me yesterday, so you’re asking the wrong person here about all of those things. I don’t pay attention to them because your head gets away with you, so I’ve learned now I never look at them.” West Ham are still in search of a first league win in 2023. Manager Paul Konchesky said: “It’s a tough time, for me, it’s a tough time for them and as a whole group at the club. We know we’re going through a tough time, but there are games where we have been really close to winning and we haven’t won. It even looks worse when we haven’t picked up points. “We haven’t been out of any game, we’ve been in most games we’ve played and it just hasn’t turned the corner for us.” Arsenal are fighting to retain their place in the Champions League for another season after selling out the Emirates Stadium for their semi-final against Wolfsburg earlier this month. With three European spots available, Jonas Eidevall will hope to put some distance between his third-placed side and Manchester City below them when the Gunners travel to Everton. Arsenal are level on 44 points with City but have played one game fewer and also have a better goal difference. Eidevall anticipates Tuesday’s opponents will be ready to bounce back from their thumping 7-0 defeat to defending champions Chelsea last time out. He said: “I always expect our opponents to be fully motivated. I expect us to be fully motivated as well, so my expectations are never different from that. I don’t want to draw too much conclusion on that result last week. “There were performances in that game that were good from Everton, and there were performances that were not so good, like in any football game you play, so we just need to prepare our way playing the game.” Everton manager Brian Sorensen assuaged fears that City loanee and England international Jess Park could be ruled out of World Cup consideration with the same shoulder injury that has forced her to miss the remainder of the domestic campaign. He said: “No, it’s a six-week injury and it was three weeks ago now. She should be ready to go on the pitch when we play the last game against City, I think that’s the time schedule. That’s the latest I’ve heard. She’s back at City, she’s in their hands. But last I spoke to her, it shouldn’t affect (it), so let’s cross our fingers for that.” The sixth-placed Toffees are assured of another top-flight season but, with 27 points, are well out of European contention.
