Is the Anne Hathaway 6.9 joke real?
Is the Anne Hathaway 6.9 joke real?
There is a clip on TikTok making the rounds of Anne Hathaway sharing a 6.9 joke - however, the video is fake. Due to artificial intelligence, the video appears realistic as it eerily portrays the voice of the Princess Diaries actor. In the clip, Hathaway is a guest on The Daily Show and is chatting to then-host Jon Stewart, where she seems to ask him a joke: "What is 6.9?" Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter To which Hathaway then drops the punchline: " “A good thing ruined by a period," which prompted laughter from Stewart who had his head in his hands while the actor also covers her mouth as she chuckled. The video has gone viral with people sharing their thoughts on the fake interaction, one person said: "She caught him so off guard," while another added: "Anne Hathaway is a national treasure." @your.comedy.cave What is 6.9? #annehathaway #joke #comedycentral #funnyclip #yourcomedycave But some were also quick to point out that the clip was not real as they wrote: "This isn't real. It's all A.I." So how was this fake clip created? An actual clip of Hathaway's 2015 appearance on The Daily Show was dubbed over using a fake voice that had an uncanny likeness to the actor. The technology was even able to change how Hathaway moved her mouth in the clip to make it look more realistic - manipulating a clip of a person in this way to make it look like they said something they did not is known as a deep fake. In the real interview, Hathaway and Stewart had a giggle about Hathaway's new film at the time called Song One. Woman accused of trying to murder her husband by poisoning his coffee with bleach for months
Woman accused of trying to murder her husband by poisoning his coffee with bleach for months
An Arizona woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to kill her estranged husband by poisoning his daily coffee for months - while he used hidden cameras to catch her in the act. Melody Felicano Johnson was indicted by a Tucson grand jury on charges of first-degree attempted murder (domestic violence), attempting to commit aggravated assault (domestic violence) and poisoning food or drink, according to court documents obtained by KVOA. She pleaded not guilty at an arraignment on Friday. Prosecutors say the plot to poison her husband Roby Johnson, a member of the US Air Force, began back in March when he noticed a strange smell in his coffee. The couple, who share a child and were living together while going through a divorce, were stationed in Germany at the time. A few weeks later, Roby Johnson investigated his suspicions with pool testing strips, which showed high levels of chlorine in the coffee pot, the indictment states. In May, he placed hidden cameras that allegedly captured Melody Johnson pouring something into the coffee maker. Roby Johnson reportedly told investigators that he pretended to drink the coffee until the couple returned in June to the US, where he was stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. He then set up multiple hidden cameras again to catch her in the act. The footage showed Melody Johnson “take bleach, pour it into a container and then walk over and pour it into the coffee maker”, the indictment states. An official investigation was launched after Roby Johnson turned the footage over to police as he filed a report. He told investigators he believed Melody Johnson wanted to kill him to collect his death benefits. Melody Johnson is currently being held in the Pima County Jail on $250,000 bond after prosecutors convinced a judge she poses a flight risk, having recently purchased a house in the Philippines near her family. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 6 September.

‘A really wild coalition’: Republican Dan Crenshaw teams up with AOC on psychedelics in military treatment
‘A really wild coalition’: Republican Dan Crenshaw teams up with AOC on psychedelics in military treatment
In an unlikely coalition, progressive Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and conservative Republican Dan Crenshaw teamed up on legislation to support allowing veterans to use psychedelic drugs to recover from the trauma of war, The New York Daily News reported. The two sought to include it in the National Defense Authorisation Act, which passed on Friday. Mr Crenshaw, a Republican who lost his right eye while serving in Afghanistan, noted the mix of ideologies at a press conference on Thursday. “This is a real wild coalition,” he said. “You’ve got extremely conservative Republicans, moderate Republicans, moderate Democrats, extremely progressive Democrats all on the same page.” Mr Crenshaw said he first became passionate about the topic after veterans he knew took ibogaine. “One treatment of ibogaine would cure them, cure them of addiction, cure them of their inner demons, their PTSD” he said. Ms Ocasio-Cortez noted how when she first entered Congress in 2019, her proposal failed, with 331 members voting against it. “While we are here to celebrate this legislative progress, I also want to acknowledge we are not yet done,” she said. “While we expect this psychedelic provision to make it through the House, we also expect it to face resistance in the Senate.” Mr Correa said he met veterans who had contemplated suicide before taking psychedelic treatment, but that they had to do so outside the United States. “Shameful,” he said. “Shameful that the one thing that works for veterans is not legal in the United States.” Ultimately, though, the funding for the language was stripped and the Rules Committee staff ruled it out of order, The Washington Examiner reported. Mr Crenshaw lambasted House staffers for sinking the legislation. “That tells me that there are staffers who are pushing this out for whatever reason they have, whether they claim it’s procedural or whatever, but they don't give us any time to react to it. Right. So they find a problem, and they squash it without giving us time to find a solution,” he said. “That is unacceptable.” Read More House Republicans push through defense bill limiting abortion access and halting diversity efforts AOC shares fear her Threads app was ‘bricked’ five minutes after joining Twitter rival
