Margot Robbie thinks it's "lovely" that people are obsessed with her feet
Margot Robbie has reacted to the internet's obsession with her feet and also theorised why this could be. With the release of the Barbie movie recently, the live-action movie directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Robbie as the recognisable Mattel doll became a hit at the box office, taking home over $1 billion. Barbie is known for having perfectly arched feet, something that the film recreated in the trailer which initially teased the movie as it showed Robbie removing her show to stand in the typical Barbie poise. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In fact, Barbie's feet play an important role in the plot line since she lost her iconic arch as she became more like a "normal" human. On this topic, Margot has said how she thinks it is "lovely" that everyone is obsessed with her feet. Speaking to Cinema Blend, she explained how she came across this when she Googled herself and wanted to see what the search engine would predict she'd type in next. "So I wrote in 'Margot Robbie' and before I finished writing 'Robbie,' 'Margot Robbie feet' came up," Robbie added. "And I was like, 'Margot Robbie feet? That's weird,'" the Babylon actor said. "I clicked on it and realized that there were pictures zoomed in on my feet and people were writing about them and someone had made a video compilation of footage of my feet and I was like, 'Oh wow, this is like a thing'. I didn't realize." Robbie also recalled some iconic films she's starred in which also have shots of her feet which she believes "only encouraged this notion." "I have to say, I'm really flattered that people are excited about my feet," she said. "I think that's lovely. I am, genuinely. I don't feel weird about it. I am actually like, 'That's nice.'" Elsewhere, Robbie has also revealed in an interview with Fandango how she was able to perfectly capture Barbie's arched feet. "It was probably about eight takes. Wasn't that many. They are my feet. I walked up, we had little sticky bits on the floor for the double-sided tape for the shoes, so they wouldn't come off, so that I could get my feet out of them," she said. "And I was holding onto a bar, but that's it. I wasn't in a harness or anything like that. I just walked up, kind of held onto the bar above the camera." Have your say in our news democracy. David Brooks doesn’t want any handouts on his return to the Wales squad
David Brooks doesn’t want any handouts on his return to the Wales squad
David Brooks does not want to be picked on sentiment on his return to the Wales stage. Brooks is back in the Wales squad for Friday’s Euro 2024 qualifier at home to Armenia – the first time he has featured for the Dragons since October 2021 when he was diagnosed with stage-two Hodgkin lymphoma while on international duty. The 25-year-old winger announced he was cancer-free in May last year and returned to club action for Bournemouth in March, starting the Cherries’ final two Premier League games. Brooks signed a new four-year Bournemouth deal last August and says he must be chosen for Wales on merit. “I was out of contract this year before I signed my new one,” Brooks said. “Even before talks had kicked in I wanted to make it clear I wasn’t there for sympathy. “I don’t want to be there if I’m not going to play or wasn’t in the plans. “Once they saw me training and how I was determined to get back to, I did earn what I was given. “It’s the same with Wales. I don’t just want to be called up to be a spare part. I’m working hard to get back in the Bournemouth XI and be starting for Wales as well.” Brooks underwent chemotherapy treatment following his cancer diagnosis, the draining effects of which he has said left him with night sweats, weight loss and struggling to climb the stairs. Now he is close to peak playing condition – “I probably need to change a bit of the fat to muscle” – and says that returning to the Wales camp where he was diagnosed was a “very nice feeling”. Brooks said: “The first step after the treatment was to get back into the Bournemouth dressing room and be part of that. “As soon as that was completed, to get back in the Wales set up was the aim. The lads have welcomed me with open arms.” On meeting up with Wales’ chief medical officer, Jonathan Houghton, who detected that Brooks’ had cancer symptoms, Brooks said: “I do owe him a lot, he’s obviously done a lot for us. It’s always nice to see him. “Whenever my mum and dad see him they burst out crying and give him a big hug. I can’t thank him enough. “Getting that awful news drops and crushes your world, at that moment you hope it will get better and go back to normal at some point.” Brooks won the last of his 21 Wales caps against Denmark at the delayed 2020 European Championship in June 2021. His perspective on life might have changed in that time, with Brooks saying “he did not have a single care about football” when he was diagnosed “as I just wanted still be on Earth”. But Brooks said: “I just love playing football and so as soon as I got the diagnosis, that was snatched away in the blink of an eye. “But it’s not the end of the world if you don’t end up playing football. Football is not life or death, the main thing is being happy and healthy. “My ambitions haven’t changed. I still want to try and get to the very top. “The hunger and drive is the same for all the lads. We all have the same goal of reaching the Euros, the World Cup – that’s what everyone wants to play in. “There’s a lot of new faces, people I’ve not met prior to this camp, and a lot of new staff. “But the brief time I’ve worked with them over the past week, we’re all pushing in the same direction and trying to achieve the same goal.” Read More Charity boss speaks out over ‘traumatic’ encounter with royal aide Ukraine war’s heaviest fight rages in east - follow live Jon Rahm looking forward to US Open test that has ‘everything’ Steve Smith holds fond memories of Edgbaston as he prepares for Ashes battle Michael van Gerwen down in the mouth over World Cup absence

Huge Xbox leak reveals Microsoft’s plans for the future of the console
Huge Xbox leak reveals Microsoft’s plans for the future of the console
A major leak has seemingly revealed Microsoft’s plans for the future of the Xbox. The company is planning a new version of the Xbox Series X that will be shaped like a cylinder and not include a console, according to internal documents. Codenamed “Brooklyn”, the new console will have the power of the more expensive Xbox, with more storage but without the option to use discs. But that will then be followed by an entirely new kind of console, planned for 2028. That aims to create a “hybrid” experience by streaming games online but combining them with local hardware, to get the best of both. That is according to new documents that were published as part of the legal hearings between the US Federal Trade Commission and Xbox, which were first reported by The Verge. The documents appear to have been uploaded accidentally, and have since been pulled down. There is no guarantee that either of the consoles will actually arrive, and the documents appear to show the internal planning of the hardware. But the new “Brooklin” version of the Xbox Series X appears close to completion, with an estimated 2024 release date. It will also come with a new controller, nicknamed Sebile and planned for later this year. It will include new features such as an accelerometer so that the console can wake up just by being picked up, and a white and black mixed colour scheme, but otherwise keeps the same design as the existing controller. The “next generation” console appears to be more speculative, and comes from a 2022 pitch ahead of a possible 2028 release date. It says that the company is aiming for its cloud gaming platform and physical consoles to achieve “full convergence” through games that would be described as “cloud hybrid”. “Our vision: develop a next generation hybrid game platform capable of leveraging the combined power of the client and cloud to deliver deeper immersion and entirely new classes of game experiences,” the documents read. It suggests for instance that players could buy a small puck that would plug into their television and include some of the processors and other hardware required to play games. But much of the game itself would stream over the internet. The hardware design would begin next year, ahead of kits arriving with developers in 2027, and then the console itself arriving a year later. The first games would start being developed for the hybrid platform from next year, the documents suggest. But it also notes that a range of things are yet to be decided. The company needs to build a “thin” operating system that could play the local parts of the games, for instance. The documents mention “hybrid Windows”, suggesting that similar technology could come to the desktop.
