Google is excellently trolling Flat Earthers
Oh Google, you naughty old devil. Someone in Silicone Valley is rolling around in laughter after pulling off this hilarious prank at the expense of the Flat Earth community. Flat Earthers believe that the world is flat, and that any evidence to the contrary is faked. Their belief that the world is flat has been described as the ultimate conspiracy theory, as they also think that several governments and NASA are working together to keep the general public in the dark. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Now, one member of Google's workforce has decided to take matters into their own hands with this subtle but oh-so-effective troll. Log onto Google, and access Google Translate. When you're in there, type in 'I'm a flat-earther' in English, then look at the French translation. If you're not a fluent French speaker, then the translation might need explaining. Try flipping that box around again and see what you get. In other flat earthers news, they announced that they think that Australia - yes, that massive, dusty continent that's given us Kylie Minogue, and has a population of 24 million - doesn't exist. In a now-deleted Facebook post, one of the leaders of the movement Shelley Floryd wrote: Australia does not exist. All things you call 'proof' are actually well-fabricated lies and documents made by the leading governments of the world. Your Australian friends? They're all actors and computer-generated personas, part of the plot to trick the world. If you think you've ever been to Australia, you're terribly wrong. The pilots are all in on this and have in all actuality only flown you to islands close nearby - or in some cases, parts of South America, where they have cleared space and hired actors to act our as real Australians. As if that wasn't enough, they also said that they think that gravity doesn't exist and that the only real force is electromagnetism. Right... Now we see why Google set up the troll. Cardi B wears dress made entirely of hair clips on 2023 VMAs red carpet
Cardi B has made a fashion statement on the 2023 MTV VMAsred carpet with a dress made entirely of silver hair clips. On Tuesday 12 September, the “WAP” singer arrived on the pink carpet at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, ahead of the annual awards show. For the occasion, Cardi B chose a floor-length, strapless silver gown by Dilara Findikoglu, which, upon closer look, was found to be entirely covered with silver hair pins and pearls. Cardi B paired the embellished dress with matching arm cuffs, which also featured the hair accessory. She completed the look with a sleek and straight hairstyle that was parted down the middle. While walking the pink carpet ahead of the awards show, which celebrates the best music videos and artists of the year, Cardi B opened up about her creativity when it comes to her fashion choices. “I’m a creative. I have to be creative with everything, with my clothes, with my pictures, everything. My visions have got to come to life,” she told MTV. On social media, the unique dress proved to be a hit with fans, with one person tweeting: “Cardi stuns as always,” while another said: “This is such a cool look omg.” In addition to taking to the stage as a performer during Tuesday night’s ceremony, Cardi B is also nominated in the category of Best Hip-Hop video for her collaboration with GloRilla on “Tomorrow 2.” Read More 2023 MTV VMAs: The best-dressed stars on the red carpet, from Olivia Rodrigo to Doja Cat Olivia Rodrigo wows in sparkly silver gown on the 2023 VMAs red carpet: ‘She did it again’ Selena Gomez returns to the VMAs red carpet in red gown for first appearance since 2015

Francia Raisa says Selena Gomez didn't 'force' her to donate her kidney
Francia Raisa has insisted there is no drama between her and Selena Gomez after a string of feud rumours online. During an appearance on Josh Peck's Good Guys podcast, the How I Met Your Father actress poured water on the claims that she was "forced" to donate Gomez her kidney. Raisa donated her kidney to the 'Lose You to Love Me' singer in 2017 when she battled lupus, a condition that affects the immune system. "I've said this before, but that was a time where I just felt it in my heart," Raisa said on the episode. "No one forced me to do anything." The 35-year-old continued: "It came out of the genuine kindness of my heart, and I've been super blessed ever since." She went on to speak about how the news broke in the press. "She and I went public with our situation years ago, and honestly, we had to," Francia explained. "The press got ahold of the story and we wanted to tell it. As for what’s going on lately…does anyone prep you for this kind of stuff? Never. We never get prepped for this kind of stuff. It always catches me by surprise." However, rumours were rife last year when Gomez said Taylor Swift was her only friend in the industry. "You guys, there’s no beef," Raisa told podcast hot Peck. "Whenever I thought about my name being in the press, I never thought about it like this," she also admitted. "I always thought about it from an actor’s perspective." Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Fans have speculated about the pair's relationship online for years, prompting the actress to turn off her comments. "I can’t read the comments because I don’t do well with it," she admitted. "Sometimes I disappear because people are mean. People are so mean." It comes after Gomez publicly wished Raisa a happy birthday last week. "No matter where life takes us, I love you," she penned. Have your say in our news democracy.
