The grandad who became an instant meme after eating paint believing it was yoghurt had died at the age of 91. Bobby found himself at the centre of internet attention in 2019 after his granddaughter Alex posted a photo of him on X/Twitter with paint around his mouth and a tub of paint with a spoon sticking out of it. She explained he accidentally ate it thinking it was yoghurt. He quickly became known as the "paint-eating grandpa" with the photo becoming a popular internet meme and videos of his antics being shared across social media. Writing on Instagram, his granddaughter shared the news that Bobby has died at the age of 91. She shared: “Today would’ve been Bobby’s 92nd birthday. For those who don’t know, he passed away peacefully in his sleep this June. And though he’s missed tremendously, he really did live a long, happy, healthy & fulfilling life as a doctor, musician, father, and grandfather.” She continued: “He loved nothing more than to make people laugh, so having the internet as his audience truly meant the world to him. Huge thanks to everyone who’s supported Bobby boy over the years — I’m confident you guys will keep his legend alive.” In the comments, people remembered Bobby fondly and spoke about how seeing his pictures and videos online was a big part of their online childhood. One person said: “Happy birthday and rest in peace. I remember how much my sister and I laughed together years ago with the yoghurt paint accident bless his soul!!” Another added: “RIP Bobby the goat. On her Instagram story, Jenner shared an image, first posted by the pro-Israel Instagram account @StandWithUs, which featured the blue and white Israel flag, along with the words “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel!” written on it. Within one hour, the 26-year-old influencer had deleted the image from her stories following backlash that was made evident in the comments section of her most recent Instagram post. Though the post that received several comments made no mention of the Israel-Gaza conflict, it soon became a place for people to vent their thoughts about Jenner showing support for one side, in what is a historically complex issue. Many of the comments featured Palestine flags and read the words “Free Palestine”. Others also posted several Israel flag emojis. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a live television address that “we are at war” and warned that “the enemy will pay an unprecedented price”. Israeli forces are still battling against Hamas fighters in several locations on their own territory, as one thousand targets have been hit in Gaza overnight following Saturday’s bloody attack. The manhunt for convicted killer Danelo Cavalcante has now entered its eighth day with details beginning to emerge about how he managed to escape from prison in Pennsylvania. Cavalcante, 34, escaped from Chester County Prison days after he was sentenced to life without parole for stabbing his ex-girlfriend Deborah Brandao, 31, to death in front of her two small children. He is also wanted for a 2017 murder in Brazil. Authorities said during a press conference on Wednesday that he broke out by climbing onto a prison building roof from one of the exercise yards. Newly released surveillance video shows Cavalcante crawling up a wall at the prison before he disappears from the frame. Police said that he later managed to jump down to an area of the prison that had less surveillance. A tower officer tasked with observing the site failed to report the incident and Cavalcante’s escape was only noticed later during a head count. He was last spotted near Chandler Road, Pennsbury Township, on Tuesday evening. Local and federal law enforcement searched the area for hours but did not locate the fugitive. Members of the public are urged to secure their homes from the dangerous killer.
