Keke Palmer claims she faced ‘breast milk discrimination’ at airport: ‘Why is that not a crime?’
Keke Palmer has claimed she faced “breast milk discrimination” during an incident at a Texas airport. The 29-year-old actor and singer tweeted on Monday (12 June) about the alleged situation that occurred at an airport in Houston. “Breast milk discrimination at the Houston airport ruined my mood,” the Nope star tweeted. Palmer claimed that officials at the unidentified airport threatened to “throw out” 16 ounces of breastmilk, writing: “I should’ve popped my tit out right then because the discretion and comfort of pumping is thwarted with threats to throw out over 16oz my babies food?!?!!!” “Why is that not a crime??” the Hustlers star added. “I’M A MOTHER for crying out loud.” Keke Palmer welcomed her first child, son Leodis "Leo" Andrellton Jackson, with boyfriend Darius Jackson in February. Her tweet was met with sympathy from fans, as they shared their similar experiences of screening their packaged breast milk through Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in airports across the US. “I’ve had this issue in soo many airports,” one person claimed. “TSA really needs to get it together.” “Oh hell no! Pumping is not an easy task,” another said. “16oz is a lot ! That is not right at all!!!!” Other people claimed that it was “illegal” for TSA to dispose of a passenger’s breast milk or baby formula, tweeting: “That’s so illegal. I work for a major airline and breast milk and anything concerning babies’ food and other items they need are always supposed to be an exception.” According to TSA guidelines, breast milk or formula in quantities greater than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters are allowed in carry-on baggage. Formula, breast milk, toddler drinks, and any other food for babies or toddlers are considered “medically necessary” liquids, and a child or infant doesn’t need to be present for a parent to bring breast milk or formula on their flight. However, travellers are recommended to remove the liquid from their carry-ons to be screened separately from the rest of their belongings. The agency suggests that formula and breast milk should be transported in clear, translucent bottles and not plastic bags or pouches, which may require additional screening. Ice packs, freezer packs, frozen gel packs and other accessories required to cool formula or breast milk is also allowed in carry-on bags. While the TSA states that there’s no known “adverse” effects of drinking breast milk that’s been screened by an X-ray, parents are still allowed to tell TSA agents that they don’t want their baby’s milk X-rayed, and will undergo additional screening procedures instead. Meanwhile, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified breast pumps as a medical device, and are therefore permitted as a carry-on item. While TSA didn’t specify whether it’s “illegal” to throw away breast milk at airport security, agents are required by the Bottles and Breastfeeding Equipment Screening Act (BABES Act) to provide ongoing training to ensure TSA staff receives consistent training related to traveling with breast milk, formula, and infant feeding equipment. In October 2021, US Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson alleged she was “groped” and publicly humiliated by a TSA agent while attempting to travel with breast milk. The athlete described the incident as “one of the worst experiences,” on her Instagram Stories, where she wrote: “We as mamas have a duty to our babies and a right in this world to carry breast milk through security”. In the post, which included a photo of clear plastic bags full of breast milk, the mother-of-two claimed that it was against her rights for the unidentified TSA agent to “publicly humiliate” her by having her prove the liquid she was travelling with was breast milk. “To then be groped and yelled at in public was excessive,” she continued. “I know you were doing your job… but so was I.” The Independent has contacted the Transportation Security Administration for comment. Adam22 and Lena the Plug are looking for another man to collaborate with on their next big project
Adam22 and Lena the Plug are looking for another man to collaborate with on their next big project
If you thought Adam22 had been put off watching his wife sleep with other men, you’d be sorely mistaken. The YouTuber, has revealed that he’d not only encourage the mother of his child, Lena the Plug, to film a sex scene with another guy, but he’d also like to get in on the action – and has a candidate in mind. The ‘No Jumper’ host (real name Adam Grandmaison) was speaking to actor Michael Rapaport for his ‘I Am Rapaport’ podcast when he opened up about their X-rated plans. The interview came as the dust continued to settle following Lena’s now-notorious encounter with porn star Jason Luv. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Their tryst marked the first time the OnlyFans star (real name Lena Nersesian) had shot adult content with a man other than her husband. And although the couple initially celebrated the film as a big success, things suddenly turned sour when Luv publicly boasted that he was “obviously” a better lover than Adam. The podcaster responded by announcing that the porn legend was “officially blacklisted from smashing [his] wife again” and ominously threatening to “expose” him. However, a week on, he seemed to have calmed down a bit, and told Rapaport that he was up for round two – just not with Luv. Admitting that he enjoyed watching the video of Lena and Luv’s love-in, Adam stressed: “We definitely want to do more”. He then clarified, somewhat more explicitly, that his wife had told him: “I want to get f**ked by you and another dude.” “Of course we're going to film it,” he confirmed. “But she's into that idea and everything and I'm definitely into it too.” Rapaport then pressed the ‘PlugTalk’ presenter to reveal who they had in mind for their new NSFW venture. “It’s almost like the f**king NBA draft,” the interviewer joked. “Who’s going to be the number one draft pick?” However, Adam replied that they didn’t have a huge number of options, given that “not that many dudes in porn have a brand about them” or a “sizeable social media platform”. (In other words, most eligible contenders aren’t influential enough for this ambitious pair.) But Rapaport was determined to get a name out of the content creator so, eventually, Adam conceded. “Johnny Sins,” he said, before describing him as “pretty much like the most popular white porn star”. “He's somebody that we've talked about having her shoot with, but then I'm friends with a lot of guys,” he added. Adam then explained that he and Lena “are thinking about making a YouTube video or a piece of content in which we interview a bunch of different guys to try to figure out who we like vibe-wise”. It sounds to us like some kind of X-rated X-Factor, and we’re sure plenty of people would be into it, especially if the success of their show ‘Plug Talk’ is anything to go by. Still, the podcaster acknowledged that they wanted to tread carefully given the fallout from their Luv liaison. “The Jason thing seemed good – he seemed like he was a great candidate for this – until he started running his mouth a little bit too much on that other podcast he did,” Adam said, adding: “That kind of soured the vibe for us.” He admitted: “We were thinking about doing me, Lena and him together at a certain point, but then I feel like it kind of got ruined by him just not being able to handle the clout.” Rapaport then revealed that he’d watched Lena and Luv’s infamous movie himself and that he “wasn't really that impressed with the whole thing”. Defending his wife, Adam insisted: “It was her first time shooting with a different guy, she was a little on edge. She said that she felt real guilty the whole time. She was kind of nervous and stuff. So I feel like she'll probably improve a lot from here.” He then acknowledged that Luv “didn't go as crazy as a lot of people wanted him to” but accepted that this was “probably good from [his] perspective”. “You don't really want to see your girl getting completely manhandled on camera for the first time,” he said. “I see how some of these male porn stars are f**king girls and they're really taking charge. I don't know if I was ready for that, and I didn't really think about that beforehand.” Rapaport encouraged Adam to become the “Simon Cowell” of porn and give some young, inexperienced “d**k-slinger” their big break by taking them on for the project. The adult entertainer recognised that there was certainly a lot of interest around a potential collaboration, telling his host that he was being flooded with DMs. “Every male porn star's just tapping in with me, like, ‘Hey, I would love to be her next scene’,” he said. “[It’s nice that they're reaching out to me as opposed to just reaching out to her, which some of them are [...] and I’m not super into that,” he stressed. However, for anyone hoping for the swift release of a spicy threesome, you may have a while to wait. “We're trying to move slowly with it and just let the heat from the first scene that she dropped cook for a while before we do it,” Adam said. “But yeah, definitely, we've got some wild stuff in the works.” Have your say in our news democracy. Sarina Wiegman says England clash with her native Netherlands ‘very special’
Sarina Wiegman says England clash with her native Netherlands ‘very special’
England boss Sarina Wiegman admits it will be “very special” when her side take on her native Netherlands in Tuesday’s Nations League contest in Utrecht. Wiegman played for the Dutch national team before overseeing their Euro 2017 win on home soil and finishing as runners-up at the 2019 World Cup in France. The 53-year-old, who has subsequently matched those managerial achievements with England, told a press conference that being back in her home country with the Lionesses was “very nice, a little bit strange too – of course I have some memories here”. She added: “I’m really looking forward to tomorrow. It’s just very special to be here and to play the opponents. “Of course we know each other really well, I know the staff, most of the staff didn’t change that much, or the players. Lots of people will be in the stands that I know.” The match is England’s second in Group A1 after they beat Scotland 2-1 in Sunderland on Friday, when the Netherlands opened their campaign with a 2-1 loss away to Belgium. Wiegman said: “We had a good review on the (Scotland) match. “We want to do a couple of things a little better, and keep doing the things that we did really well, bring that to the next level too – that’s what we talked about, and then tomorrow we go again. “I think if you look at the stats against Belgium they (the Netherlands) had pretty good stats. You see how the game developed and they were a little bit unlucky, and Belgium took advantage of that. “Of course they want to do well because their goal also is to come first in the group, so with the first loss they really want to do well tomorrow and have a good result. That is what we expect.” The Nations League offers two qualification places for the Paris 2024 Olympics, with England the nominated home nations team aiming to secure a spot for Great Britain. To do that they will need to win their group to advance to the Nations League’s last four, and then reach the final, or come third should France make the final. Wiegman said she had every member of her squad available for Tuesday’s game, including Alessia Russo, who sat out the Scotland contest – she had joined the group later than others following some recuperation, having played in Champions League qualifying matches for Arsenal earlier this month. Wiegman was joined at the press conference by Russo’s fellow forward Lauren Hemp, scorer of England’s second goal against Scotland. The 23-year-old Manchester City player said of the Dutchwoman: “Sarina is a fantastic coach. Ever since she got the job I feel like she’s taken this team to a whole new level, and for me personally I’m learning every single day. “I feel like I’m getting so much better and feeling so much more confident as the days go by under Sarina. She’s unbelievable.” Meanwhile, Wiegman has paid tribute to Megan Rapinoe after the two-time World Cup winner, who has been an influential figure in the women’s game both on and off the pitch, played her final game for the United States before retirement, a 2-0 win over South Africa. Wiegman said of Rapinoe’s legacy: “I think she is one of the most important players. I think the US were the trailblazers in women’s football, and also (for) the position of women in society. “I think we should be all very thankful for what she leaves behind. I have so much respect for her.” Of her own players driving change, she added: “I think this group of women are very conscious of society too and using the platform in a positive way to change society. “They are so outspoken and well spoken, they articulate themselves so well.” Read More Charity boss speaks out over ‘traumatic’ encounter with royal aide Ukraine war’s heaviest fight rages in east - follow live Axed Jason Roy urged to remain positive with World Cup role still a possibility ECB unable to commit to equal pay targets for England men and women Johnny Sexton insists Ireland are looking no further than crucial Scotland clash
