It's safe to say that Tottenham Hotspur aren't missing Harry Kane since he left for Bayern Munich in the summer but that doesn't mean their former striker isn't having a great time in Germany. The England captain scored a hat-trick in Bayern's 8-0 thrashing of Darmstadt in the Bundesliga on Saturday including a spectacular goal from inside his own half. The score was already 4-0 at the time but Kane showed no mercy as he launched a long-range shot from the centre circle seeing Darmstadt's goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen off of his line in spectacular fashion on 69 minutes. Nice. It was just Kane's second goal of the game and he later completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute. Other goalscorers for the German giants were Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala who both scored two, Joshua Kimmich and Bayern legend Thomas Muller. Kane has now scored 11 goals in just 12 games for Bayern who are top of the German Bundesliga at the time of writing. Meanwhile, Kane's former club, Tottenham are flying high in the Premier League and currently sitting at the summit of the English top flight after an impressive start under new coach Ange Postecoglou who is yet to taste defeat in the league with the North London side. Businessman and presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy appeared on Wednesday to call Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, who is Jewish, a “Nazi” during the latest GOP presidential debate. During a line of comments in which the Republican argued Ukraine is anti-democratic and undeserving of US aid, Mr Ramaswamy claimed, “It has celebrated a Nazi in its ranks – the comedian in cargo pants, a man called Zelensky – doing it in their own ranks. That is not democratic.” However, the entrepreneur may have stumbled over his words and actually been speaking about a separate person as a “Nazi.” During the debate in September, he put it slightly differently, telling the audience, “We need a reasonable peace plan to end this, this is a country whose president just last week was hailing a Nazi in his own ranks.” The attack is an apparent reference to an incident from Canada in September. After hearing a speech from Mr Zelensky, lawmakers there gave an ovation to 98-year-old Yaroslav Hunka, who fought for the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, a Nazi unit in WWII. The former soldier was invited to attend the address by then-House of Commons Speaker Anthony Rota, who has since resigned. Neither the Ukrainian delegation present nor the Canadian government was informed of the invitation, House government leader later Karina Gould told NPR. “No one in this House is above any of us. Therefore I must step down as your speaker,” Mr Rota said in Parliament in late September. “I reiterate my profound regret for my error in recognising an individual in the House during the joint address to Parliament of President Zelensky. “That public recognition has caused pain to individuals and communities, including to the Jewish community in Canada and around the world in addition to Nazi survivors in Poland among other nations. I accept full responsibility for my actions,” he added. Regardless of Mr Ramaswamy’s intended meaning, the comments generated controversy immediately, with critics arguing they played into Russian propaganda points. “Repeating offensive Kremlin talking points is an odd way to try to win votes in the USA,” retired Navy admiral James Stavridis wrote on X. Russia has repeatedly, falsely attacked the Ukrainian governments and its leaders as Nazis, and refered to its invasion of the country as “denazification.” “I’m increasingly convinced that Ramaswamy is a Ukrainian secret agent performing a parody of how stupid and cruel pro-Putin MAGA propagandists sound,” Russian chess champion and human rights activist Garry Kasparov wrote on X. “People advising Vivek Ramaswamay should be ashamed,” former Trump White House official Alyssa Farah Griffin added in a post of her own. “The paycheck is not worth propping up this ridiculous & offensive person. Antisemitism is on the rising globally & he has the gall to say this about a Jewish leader who is at war for his nation’s sovereignty. Donald Trump will face yet another arraignment, this time in Fulton County, Georgia, after he was indicted on 13 charges related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election in the state. On Monday evening, Mr Trump was charged with violating the RICO Act as well as other charges alleging conspiracy, making false statements and filing false documents related to his combined efforts with 18 other named defendants in changing election results. The charges stem from an investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis into Mr Trump and his allies’ actions in the state in the days and weeks after the 2020 election. These actions included an infamous phone call that Mr Trump made to Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s Republican secretary of state, in which Mr Trump asked him to “find” 11,780 votes. It also detailed a plot to install fake state electors. Now, Mr Trump will have to add another series of court hearings for this case, including his official arraignment, to his already packed schedule. Here’s what we know about what’s next for Mr Trump in the Georgia indictment. When is the arraignment? Mr Trump’s arraignment date has not been set yet. But in a press conference on Monday evening, Ms Willis announced that arrest warrants have been issued for Mr Trump and his 18 co-defendants and gave them a deadline of 25 August at noon to surrender. Will there be cameras in the courtroom? Georgia law is unique in that it requires cameras be allowed in judicial proceedings so long as the judge approves it. Mr Trump’s upcoming arraignment is likely to be televised, just as parts of Monday’s indictment were. This will mark the first publicly available viewing of the ex-president’s slew of criminal indictments. The New York indictment and both federal indictments did not have cameras in the courtroom. According to the law, Georgia believes televised proceedings promote “access to and understanding of court proceedings not only by the participants in them but also by the general public”. In order for a judge to prevent cameras in the courtroom, they would need a compelling reason like a child victim or witness. Will Trump receive a mugshot and fingerprints? Like his previous arraignments, Mr Trump will be fingerprinted, as is customary with criminal charges. In the past, the ex-president did not have a mugshot taken because he is considered a notable person therefore an identifying mugshot was unnecessary. However, Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat told WSB-TV earlier this month that Mr Trump likely will pose for a mugshot because he will be treated like any other person. “Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mugshot ready for you,” Mr Labat said. Will he get bail? More than likely, Mr Trump will be released on bail or bond of some sort. In all his previous arraignments, the ex-president was released on a bond given his notable status. In his most recent federal arraignment related to his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election, Mr Trump was released on an appearance bond and under strict rules. During the ex-president’s first federal arraignment for his alleged retention of classified documents, Mr Trump signed a personal surety bond. In April, a New York judge allowed Mr Trump to walk without bail as well. A bond is usually set to ensure a defendant appears in court. A judge can outright deny bond which then requires the defendant to be taken into custody to await trial.
