Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast online, is an American YouTube personality, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, who has recently become only the second creator to reach 100 million subscribers. The 24-year-old pioneered a content genre focusing on expensive stunts, challenges and donations. The more popular he gets, the more money he gives away. The YouTube star documented his live reaction to hitting the milestone on a YouTube stream, where he thanked everyone for their support. "I appreciate every single one of you that watches the videos. This is literally all I've ever done with my life," he said, adding, "All I do is wake up every day and obsess over how to make the best videos possible. It's all I care about. It's the only thing that's ever really made me happy." He also tweeted a celebratory message on Twitter to express his gratitude, saying, "I'm grateful I get to do this all day everyday," adding in a separate post: "No matter how big I get I'll never own a mansion, yacht, Lamborghini etc. All I want is to make the best videos possible and help as many people as I can while doing it." The viral sensation has also shared a clip which saw him pay for cataract removal for 1,000 people who could not afford surgery to cure their blindness. His YouTube video saw MrBeast work with ophthalmologist and surgeon Jeff Levenson, who runs the Gift of Sight program in Florida, helping people by providing free cataract surgery to people who need it most. Taking to Twitter, he wrote: "I don’t understand why curable blindness is a thing. Why don’t governments step in and help? The YouTuber first joined the platform in February 2012, aged 13. His earlier videos focused on video game footage and estimated net worths of fellow YouTube stars. He later found viral fame when a video of him counting to 100,000 made waves across YouTube after taking 40 hours to complete. MrBeast soon joined a competition from PewDiePie to become the most-subscribed channel on YouTube. Flash forward to 2022, MrBeast is now one of the most-viewed and highest-paid creators on YouTube. He has since hired many of his childhood friends to help him grow his brand with a team of approximately 60 people. Porn legend-turned-Twitch star Adriana Chechik has revealed that she’s being so badly swatted, she’s going to have to move house. On Saturday, the adult entertainer issued a damning rebuke of “beyond childish” pranksters, who have been blighting her life for months. In a furious tweet, Chechik, 31, explained that the emergency services had been called to her house on 12 separate occasions, as she urged the culprits to “grow up”. “Y’all suck so hard. I’m gonna have to move with this swatting sh*t,” she wrote. It involves a troll finding out their victim’s address or location and then making a hoax phone call to the emergency services, claiming that there’s extreme violence taking place there. The idea is to make the lie sound as urgent and threatening as possible to prompt an armed response – hence “SWAT”. The perpetrator then keeps their fingers crossed that the police will raid the home during the streamer’s broadcast so that they can watch the dramatic action unfold live on camera. And whilst some would argue that swatting is just an elaborate prank, most will tell you it is, in fact, a dangerous crime that puts lives at risk. In one high-profile instance back in 2019, a teenage Call of Duty player swatted an opponent after losing a game. Police showed up at the wrong address, then shot and killed a totally innocent father-of-two. It is also, as Chechik pointed out in her tweet, a complete waste of the emergency services’ time, that should be dedicated to legitimate crises. One of the most horrific aspects of the 31-year-old’s plight is that she was attacked by swatters even as she recovered from a near-life-threatening injury. In October last year, she broke her back in two places after jumping into a foam pit at TwitchCon, San Diego, which left her facing months of surgery and gruelling rehabilitation. She also lost her unborn child as a result of the accident – later revealing that, unbeknownst to her, she was pregnant at the time. And yet, some of her followers – who seem unfamiliar with the very concept of human decency – decided it would be fun to ambush her. In December, as Chechik lay bedbound, she tweeted: “Tell me how some internet trolls are gonna swat a person whose back is still healing from being broken. Some twitch chatters are a whole different breed of small d**k idiots. “The cops know me now. We legit talk about our life because this happens so much.” Based on her latest complaint, the situation has only escalated since then. But, at least, she suggested action is being taken to find those responsible. One of her fans responded to her tweet, saying: “Moving I think would only give you a brief respite from the bampots, and then it would start again. Time to get a lawyer and PI involved and start to sue the c**p out of both the city for having inadequate response to being repeat called and the people calling them on you.” Chechik replied simply: “[Already on it!!]” Of course, this is not a game, but we hope she nails those swatters once and for all. Elon Musk has baffled fans of the popular game Warhammer 40,000 by seemingly borrowing from the title as the inspiration for his newest child's name: Techno Mechanicus. A new biography on Musk written by Walter Isaacson revealed the existence of the previously unannounced addition to the billionaire's family which he reportedly had with former partner the Canadian musician Claire Boucher aka Grimes. It has not been disclosed exactly when Musk and Grimes had the child but it is the third the former couple have had together, despite their relationship ending in 2021. This now brings the number of children that Musk has brought into the world to 11 but the new baby's name has raised the eyebrows amongst many, mostly because it sounds like something from Warhammer. Mechanicus is indeed a word from the game most commonly associated with the Adeptus Mechanicus faction, a group of cyborg warrior priests which does sound like something that would appeal to Musk. With this in mind, Warhammer players and those in the know have taken to Musk own platform X/Twitter to point out the similarities. The new child's unusual name, who is said to be called 'Tau' for short, follows a tradition between the pair who have named their previous two children X Æ A-Xii, or X, and Exa Dark Sideræl, or Y, respectively.
