Thomas Tuchel: Humble Harry Kane already inspiring his Bayern Munich team-mates
Thomas Tuchel: Humble Harry Kane already inspiring his Bayern Munich team-mates
Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has no doubt Harry Kane will handle the scrutiny in Germany and believes he is already “inspiring” his team-mates ahead of Friday’s Bundesliga opener at Werder Bremen. Kane’s debut off the bench last Saturday failed to go to plan and his wait for a first trophy goes on after RB Leipzig inflicted a 3-0 defeat on Bayern in the DFL-Supercup. Tuchel, who was critical of his squad after the match, confirmed Kane, who signed last weekend from Tottenham for an initial £100million, would start Friday’s fixture. He told a press conference: “I don’t think it is going to be the first time in his career (he has been under pressure), so that is why he will learn to transfer the pressure into performance and stay relaxed. “It is not about life or death. It is a game, a competitive game and he has proved for about 10 years how he does it, so I am not worried about Harry. “The Harry Kane effect will not be gone (if we lose). It is the way he works in training, in the locker room, his professionalism, the way he goes about things and how humble he is in training, how keen he is in training. “The way he acts after such a game, after a loss, he is the first on the training pitch, he works with the reserve players, he is the one walking ahead who is inspiring others. That is what makes that transfer fee (worthwhile), not only his goal-scoring record but all the other things as well. “That is what really makes him a big star and all the other personalities in sport as well, so that is the Harry Kane effect and why he raises our chances of winning tomorrow massively. “Obviously we won’t win every game just because he is there and, even when the Harry Kane effect is there in full effect, it still doesn’t mean we’ll win every game, but that is why I was fighting for him to come here. As far as all the things I have seen, I really feel that it was worth it.” Tuchel faced repeated questions on Thursday about the public dressing down of his players in the wake of their defeat to Leipzig. He called on the squad to learn from Kane and his attitude after a tumultuous five months since his March appointment, with Tuchel losing more games than predecessor Julian Nagelsmann last season. “I understand this criticism was received as tough criticism, but I was honest. I was talking about the way I feel and my disappointment was really big,” Tuchel said. “After losing 3-0 it doesn’t matter what I say ,because it would go in all directions anyway. I don’t know what to say in order to please everybody and I don’t know whether I want that. “I try to be authentic and that is what I was. Maybe it wasn’t the most diplomatic way to go about things, but if I tried to be diplomatic people would have asked, ‘Was he at the right game?’ “I take it personally losing. I wish we all go about things this way and be more resilient.” The way he acts after such a game, after a loss, he is the first on the training pitch, he works with the reserve players, he is the one walking ahead who is inspiring others Thomas Tuchel on Harry Kane Tuchel will soon be boosted by the return of goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who recently had a second operation after suffering a broken leg while skiing last December. Thomas Muller and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will be part of Friday’s squad, but Bouna Sarr, Noussair Mazraoui and Serge Gnabry will need to be checked on. Tuchel added: “The small operation performed on Manuel worked and the prognosis is he will be back in (team) training in a shorter period of time than we thought so it is generally positive. “The past couple of days I saw him in training and I am not a rehab expert, but what I saw was really impressive and looked really good. “I think he will be back in team training in the next couple of weeks.”

OnlyFans model left with paralysed limb after intense sex session with lover
An OnlyFans model suffered a near-fatal blood clot from a love bite during a steamy sex session. Raven-haired Janet Massa had several ruptured arteries and a paralysed arm after romping with her lover. During the raunchy encounter, the unnamed man gave the influencer a ‘hickey’ but was somewhat over-exertive. According to Janet, the injury was so severe that she lost all feeling in her left arm and “thought she was going to die”. Following the scare, Janet said she dumped her lover and never spoke to him again. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The Paraguayan model, who lives in Spain, explained: “We were snogging in bed and he kissed my neck, but sucked so hard I pushed him away. “I didn’t want him to leave a mark. “Early the next morning, while I was at home, I couldn’t move my arm anymore. “It was a huge scare. “I thought I was going to die.” The model immediately went to a nearby medical centre for treatment. She claimed she suffered a blood clot that went to her heart, causing the paralysis in her arm and nearly prompting a serious heart attack. Janet explained: “The doctors could not understand what was happening to me until they noticed the bruise on my neck and said it could be because of that.” She added: “In the end, they told me that a blood clot reached my heart and caused that paralysis in my arm. “It could have been far worse. “It could have caused a serious heart attack.” After treatment, the influencer - who boasts 120,000 followers on Instagram - said she was observed by medics for several hours before being allowed to leave. Janet added: “I sent the guy to hell and never spoke to him again.” Have your say in our news democracy. England make winning start in Women’s Nations League after tough Scottish test
England make winning start in Women’s Nations League after tough Scottish test
England got their Nations League campaign off to a winning start with a 2-1 win against Scotland at the Stadium of Light. Just over a month after their World Cup final defeat to Spain, the Lionesses earned an inaugural win in the competition after going ahead through former Black Cat Lucy Bronze. Lauren Hemp doubled the lead before Scotland pulled one back just before the break through Kirsty Hanson and the visitors had plenty of good opportunities to level in the second half but were unable to capitalise on their chances. Prior to kick-off both teams paid their respects to Sheffield United’s Maddy Cusack, who has died aged 27, and a period of silence was observed around the stadium. England were on the front foot straight from kick-off and Georgia Stanway had the first real attempt of the game 10 minutes in when her header went just wide. Lauren James then launched into an excellent mazy run across the Scottish half and threaded the ball to Rachel Daly, whose low effort was comfortably saved by Lee Gibson. The Lionesses kept possession well but struggled to find the breakthrough as Stanway tried one of her trademark long-distance efforts from outside the box with Gibson saving. However, the visitors took their chances where they could as Caroline Weir had a powerful effort from inside the box well saved by Mary Earps. England thought they had broken the deadlock in the 25th minute through Daly’s flicked header from a corner, but the celebrations were quickly cut short when the goal was ruled out for offside against Chloe Kelly in the build-up. Pouncing on a missed opportunity, Scotland were suddenly on the attack as Hanson made a great run down the left flank but Martha Thomas was unable to stab the ball home, before the Tottenham striker’s curling effort was held by Earps. Former Sunderland defender Bronze opened the scoring for the Lionesses after a great cross from Katie Zelem picked out the right-back, who made a perfectly timed run to head home. They doubled the lead in the 45th minute after Daly picked out Hemp on the left for the Manchester City winger to head into the top corner. Scotland pulled one back with the last kick of the half as England failed to clear their lines in the box and Hanson was able to poke a low cross into the bottom corner. A closely contested start to the second half saw James’ curling effort whistle over the top corner before Kelly hit a brilliant low cross into the box for Daly, who was unable to get her feet sorted in time. Scotland threatened again as Earps was equal to Thomas’ header and the visitors looked the brighter of the two teams, but England were able to shut down the threat quickly. Scotland had another great chance to level as Earps made a fantastic punch to clear Rachel McLauchlan’s attempted cross and Hanson smashed the rebound off the crossbar. The visitors threatened again with six minutes to go as Lisa Evans picked out Christy Grimshaw on the edge of the box but her low effort was held by Earps. James broke forward in added to head home after Gibson’s initial save, but the goal was ruled out for offside and Fiona Brown had the final effort of the game saved by Earps.
