Denver Nuggets make history with first NBA title
The Denver Nuggets won their first NBA championship with a 94-89 victory over the Miami Heat in game five of the NBA finals. In a back-and-forth affair, the Nuggets were able to hold off a late rally from Miami and claim the Larry O’Brien trophy in front of their home fans. Nikola Jokic again led the way for Denver with 28 points, while Jimmy Butler finished with 21 after a late flurry brought the Heat agonisingly close to forcing a game six back in Miami. Some early struggles from deep gave the Heat a seven-point lead at half-time, with the Nuggets missing their first 22 attempts from beyond the arc. However, Denver were finally able to get a few threes to fall and clamped down defensively in the second half, holding Miami to just 38 points over the final two quarters. Eight-straight points and a pair of clutch free throws from Butler put the Heat back in front by one with less than two minutes remaining, but the visitors were ultimately unable to claw their way back again after Denver’s Bruce Brown grabbed an offensive rebound and tip-in. Jokic, who ended the season as the first player in history to lead the playoffs in points, rebounds and assists, had his history-making postseason rewarded by being named Finals MVP. “The job is done, we can go home now,” said Jokic, whose trophy case also includes two NBA MVP Awards. “It was an amazing effort by the team. “That is why basketball is a fun sport, it is a live thing, you cannot say this going to happen, there are so many factors. “I’m just happy we won the game.” Read More Miami Heat mascot hospitalised after Conor McGregor punch Denver Nuggets with one hand on NBA trophy after taking 3-1 finals series lead Denver stars rewrite the record books as Nuggets take series lead

'Twin cousins' explain how they are also brothers thanks to their identical parents
Two cousins have turned to TikTok to explain the complex dynamic of them being siblings – thanks to their twin parents. The two Peters left their 1.2 million viewers scratching their heads in one of their viral clips. "We’re technically brothers because of our DNA," they wrote as the caption, adding: Genetically speaking we’re brothers and cousins." It comes after their twin dads, Peter and Pedro, met partners who were also twins. The unique set-up has resulted in the two Peters looking almost identical. In response to one fan, who said the internet stars "are actually half-siblings, genetically speaking," they said: ''That would be only true if our dads would only be identical twin brothers." ''We like to use the term 'twin cousins','' the pair explained. ''Even though we're brothers genetically speaking, we're also cousins.'' @thepetertwins We’re technically brothers because of our DNA. Genetically speaking we’re brothers and cousins #twins #twinsoftiktok #twincousins #brousins #science #genetics #fyp #foryoupage The explanation left viewers more baffled, with hundreds of fellow TikTokers chiming in under the comments. "I just don’t have the brainpower to process this," one person wrote, while another added: "My brain is not braining.. Anyone else?" Another clarified: "So you have different mum and dads, that’s how you’re cousins.. but because your mum and dads are twins, that makes you siblings too? Is that right?" The Peter Twins responded: "Yes! That makes us both cousins and brothers. Genetically we’re brothers, and legally we’re cousins." Meanwhile, the two Peters shared how their dads met their mums in Puerto Rico after one person joked: "So your dads are twin brothers and got with another set of twins how did they meet? Twins R Us?" iShowSpeed fans gather outside hospital as YouTuber continues to fight 'deadly' illness
IShowSpeed fans have gathered outside the Japanese hospital the YouTuber is being treated in to show their support amid his ongoing health struggles. The 18-year-old is currently receiving treatment in Tokyo after sharing footage of himself receiving treatment in hospital with a "deadly headache." The influencer, real name Darren Watkins Jr, was noticeably distressed with one eye closed and the other severely swollen after suffering a severe sinus infection. He told fans: "Right now, I have one of the worst experiences I am having right now. I can't even open up my eyes. I have this thing called a cluster headache. A deadly headache disease. I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do anything right now. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "It hurts so bad, chat. It hurts so bad. I can't do anything. It hurts. Everything I do, like, something pounding my head every time and I'm so angry.” Now, footage has been shared which shows that the YouTuber is receiving plenty of support from his fans outside the hospital. Crowds of people were filmed chanting his name and singing his ‘World Cup’ song. IShowSpeed previously told fans: "My eye's puffing up. It feels like a stab. It feels like somebody is stabbing my eye with a knife. Boom, boom, boom, boom. And, I have a headache right in this area (the streamer puts his hand on top of his right eye and the temple). It's literally exactly like this. He ended the one-minute video on an ominous note: "I wanted to give y'all boys (an) update because I don't know what's going to happen to me. You know what I'm saying? I want y'all boys to always be right there with me, until I die. It's... I don't know, man. But, when I get back home, I'm going to probably chill from traveling for a bit because... a lot is going on. Bye." Have your say in our news democracy.
