Grading a potential Packers-Davante Adams reunion trade

Could Davante Adams return to the Green Bay Packers? It's feasible, especially after Adams made it clear he didn't choose Jimmy Garoppolo as his next Raiders quarterback.

A Davante Adams trade back to Green Bay would be a shocker to say the least, especially with his best friend Aaron Rodgers now a member of the New York Jets. Sure, Adams has fond memories at Lambeau Field, but most if not all of those do not involve Jordan Love.

For the Packers to truly move forward without Rodgers, they need to find Love his own version of Davante Adams. Who knows, maybe that player is already on the roster?

Adams has made it clear he doesn't agree with many of the moves the front office made this offseason in a recent interview via The Ringer.

"They (the front office) think this is the best bet for us right now to put us in a position to be urgent. We don't see eye-to-eye on what we think is best for us right now," Adams said. "If we play a certain brand of ball, I can get [Garoppolo] to conform to whatever. But if we use him a certain type of way, then it's going to make it tough for us to maximize who we should be this year."

What a Packers-Raiders trade for Davante Adams would look like

Bleacher Report took its shot at breaking the internet just last week, suggesting Adams could be had for a player and two draft picks.

Njiman is a fine player, but I find it hard to believe the Packers get out of this trade without handing over a first-round selection next season. As Lombardi Ave's Freddie Boston suggested about an Adams reunion, those days are likely gone for good:

"The Packers are getting younger on offense and building for the future. Would they give up a couple of premium draft picks and a starting offensive lineman for Adams entering his age-31 season? Sure, the Packers should make that deal if it were an option, but that doesn't mean they would."

Green Bay is getting younger, and retooling on the fly. Love being as successful as the front office thinks he can be would be a great start, but don't expect Adams to be in play.
