BERLIN, GERMANY: Harrison Ford, 80, made sure to show his love for his wife Calista Flockhart, 58, at the German premiere of 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' on June 22. The couple not only held hands on the red carpet but also got close and enjoyed a tender moment in front of the cameras. For his part, Harrison looked sharp in a traditional black suit, complete with a pinstriped shirt. Calista glowed in a red gown with a textured pattern.
The 80-year-old made sure to take pictures with several of his co-stars while at the event, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, 37. The two performers posed side by side, looking happy and upbeat as they both smiled. The Fleabag actress wore an enticing low-cut black velvet dress with open-toed black shoes. Phoebe decided to comb her brunette hair back and added a dramatic red lip to her costume. They were joined by co-stars Thomas Kretschmann and Mads Mikkelsen on the red carpet that evening, as per reports.
Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart's PDA on the red carpet
One week after their appearance at the Los Angeles premiere on June 14, Calista and her husband had a date night at the German premiere. The father of five sported a similar attire in Los Angeles as well, with a black suit and striped shirt. His better half looked stunning in a stylish off-the-shoulder black top that was tucked into a yellow satin skirt. With a pair of black open-toe heels and gold hoops, the 58-year-old completed the vibrant ensemble. Harrison and his leading woman put on a display of PDA while walking hand-in-hand on the red carpet during that excursion as they turned towards each other and got nose-to-nose in front of the camera.
'Change the course of history'
Harrison will return to the character of the beloved Indiana Jones in the fifth installment of the 'Indiana Jones' movie series which will release on June 30. Phoebe will take on the role of Helena Shaw, Indiana's goddaughter, who shares the title character's penchant for adventure. Helena and Indiana will be seen on a perilous search for a mysterious dial that has the power to "change the course of history."
They will ultimately clash with former Nazi Jürgen Voller who now works for NASA, played by Mads. 'Raiders of the Lost Ark', the first movie in the series, debuted in 1981, and two more movies followed in the 1980s. The fourth film, 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull', debuted 15 years ago.
'I don't mean that we didn't make ambitious movies..'
Harrison recently discussed creating another 'Indiana Jones' movie in his 80s and his views on parenting in an interview with Esquire on May 31. "I wanted an ambitious movie to be the last one," he told the newspaper. "And I don't mean that we didn't make ambitious movies before—they were ambitious in many different ways. But not necessarily as ambitious with the character as I wanted the last one to be."
Harrison went on to say that his success made it harder for him to be the greatest parent he could be. He said, “I can tell you this: If I’d been less successful, I’d probably be a better parent." He added, “I accept my flaws and my failures—I don’t accept them, I own them. And certainly the more constant gardener is the better parent, and I’ve been out of town, up my own a**, for most of my life,” as per reports.
