LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actor and comedian Dana Carvey's eldest son, Dex Carvey, recently died from a drug overdose. Dana and his wife Paula Zwagerman penned a heartbreaking tribute to his late son on social media.
The revealed in the tribute, "Last night we suffered a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son, Dex, died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old."
Dana continued in the tribute, "Dex packed a lot into those 32 years. He was extremely talented at so many things — music, art, film making, comedy — and pursued all of them passionately."
ana and Paula noted that their late son made people love life, but 'most of all, he loved his family, his friends and his girlfriend, Kaylee.' The couple added, "Dex was a beautiful person. His handmade birthday cards are a treasure. Will will miss him forever."
Dana concluded the tribute with prayers for those 'struggling with addiction.' He shared, "anyone struggling with addiction or who loves someone struggling with addiction, you are in our hearts and prayers."
Dex passed away around 10 pm PT after first responders rushed to his house after receiving a call from his girlfriend, Kaylee, as reported by TMZ.
Dex reportedly locked himself in the bathroom and was unresponsive when authorities discovered him. He was survived by his parents, Dana and Paula, and a brother, Thomas.
