How did Joe Rogan react to Andrew Tate's arrest? Podcaster says misogynistic influencer's content 'resonates with young men': 'Very calculated guy'

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan, the host of the popular podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience' (JRE), has never shied away from exploring controversial topics. The UFC analyst once expressed his thoughts on the controversial former kickboxer Andrew Tate's arrest.

In December 2022, Andrew Tate, his brother Tristan Tate, and two Romanian nationals were detained in Bucharest on charges of human trafficking and rape. Tate stated he moved to Romania because of lenient rape laws, and they are being investigated criminally.

'Very intelligent and calculated guy'

On episode #1920 of JRE, Rogan referenced seeing Tate on Patrick Bet-David's podcast. He said, "They talked for hours, and you get to see this is a very intelligent and calculated guy. You might not agree with his message."

He added, "You might not agree with all the misogynist stuff. And I don't agree with it. You might not agree all the crazy antics, but you cannot deny that, that's been incredibly successful because it resonates with a lot of young men who don't feel represented in the media."

He went on saying, "I don't know him. If I did know him, I would tell him all the boastful s**t and the s**t about him being the Top G and all that stuff - all that s**t's great, but the misogynistic stuff - like, if you have daughters or if you have a wife or if you have sisters, you don't want that. That narrative, putting that out there, that's negative - to everybody. It's not even positive to him. It's like, it's not necessary."

'He's been trying to get on my podcast'

Once Rogan refused to invite controversial social media influencer Tate on his podcast show. According to the Southern Poverty Law Centre (SPLC), conspiracy theorist Alex Jones attempted to persuade UFC commentator, Rogan to invite Tate on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' through text message.

The text chat was obtained by the SPLC from Jones' phone. "Yeah, he's been trying to get on my podcast for a while," Rogan admitted. According to the SPLC, Rogan texted Jones, "I'm way overbooked right now."

On his podcast, Rogan mentioned Tate, comparing him to a professional wrestler putting on a show. Tate gets money through an intensive digital identity, according to him, and he is a "very smart guy."
