CINCINNATI, OHIO: Music icon Sinead O'Connor died at the age of 56 and reactions started pouring in from all over the world for the beloved singer. Pink and Brandi Carlile, who was performing at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, hours before the news broke, paid their tribute in a stunning way.

O'Connor’s death was confirmed by her family as per RTE and BBC on Wednesday, July 26, "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time." Irish President Michael D Higgins took a moment to laud O'Connor's 'beautiful, unique voice' and said "What Ireland has lost at such a relatively young age is one of our greatest and most gifted composers, songwriters, and performers of recent decades, one who had a unique talent and extraordinary connection with her audience, all of whom held such love and warmth for her."

Pink and Brandi Carlile offered one of the best tributes to Sinead O'Connor, as the duo came together once again after their performance to sing O'Connor's emotional cover of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U'. They were at a concert at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, just hours before the Irish singer died. A fan claimed that the two singers hugged each other on stage after singing the song. Brandi Carlile posted an Instagram Story, "She was right the whole time. I hope she found some peace."

'An autopsy is soon to be carried out'

However, the cause of her death is still not out, and an autopsy is soon to be carried out, as per London Inner South Coroner’s Court. "The Coroner, therefore, directed an autopsy to be conducted. The results of this may not [be available] for several weeks. The decision whether an inquest will be needed will be decided when these results are known and submissions have been heard from the family," the organization's statement read.

Higgins further said in his emotional tribute to O’Connor, “To those of us who had the privilege of knowing her, one couldn’t but always be struck by the depth of her fearless commitment to the important issues which she brought to public attention, no matter how uncomfortable those truths may have been.”

In her last social media post, she expressed her pain of losing her teen son Shane, "I look like s**t either way, which is why I didn't want to make a video. But you know the way your kid unfortunately passing away - it isn't good for one's body, or soul to be fair."
