HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Emma Heming Willis, wife of Bruce Willis, has given an update about her husband’s health and how she copes up with being his caregiver.

Bruce Willis, 68, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in 2022, a progressive and incurable disease that affects his communication and behaviour.

How is Bruce Willis?

Emma Heming Willis, 44, has been sharing updates on her husband’s as well as her own well-being on social media.

In a recent series of emotional videos on her Instagram Stories, Emma Heming Willis revealed that she wasn’t feeling “good” and that she had to put her “best foot forward” for the sake of her family, Daily Mail reported.

She said that while it’s been “doom and gloom” behind closed doors, she had to make a conscious effort every single day to live the best life that she can. She also expressed her worries over people thinking she was doing fine when the reality of her personal life was very different.

"I do that for myself. I do that for our two children. And Bruce, who would not want me to live any other way. So I don’t want it to be misconstrued,” Emma continued as she began to crack while talking to the camera.

“I have to put my best foot forward for the sake of myself and my family. When we are not looking after ourselves, we cannot look after anyone that we love. So it’s really important,” she added.

Emma Heming said it was a conscious effort to make time for self-care

The former model confessed that it was a “conscious effort” to make time for self-care, telling her fans that she was “doing the best I can, always” and urged fellow carers to take five minutes out of their day to do something that made them happy.

“I know your day is stressful, and I know that your day is hard, but I just want you to break it up for a minute, and just look for something beautiful,” Emma shared.

Emma Heming’s video tribute to her husband Bruce Willis

Emma’s video tribute to her husband Bruce Willis who is suffering from dementia made fans emotional. She posted several nostalgic moments in March to celebrate his 68th birthday and their 14th anniversary.

She also shared a video from 2019 that was filmed by Demi Moore, Bruce’s ex-wife.

Bruce Willis’s daughter Rumer, whom he shares with Demi Moore, shared the heartbreaking news about her father’s diagnosis on Instagram in February.

She explained that Bruce’s condition was sadly “not treatable” and “has progressed.”

"Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).

“Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”
