A decent amount into Current-Gen players' journeys in NBA 2K23 MyCareer, there are two very important questlines that award nine additional Badge upgrades once completed.
For those on Next Gen, there is a way to get four extra Badge points through quests.
The Badges are added on top of your build's original total potential and can be equipped right away without any further grinding needed. Here's a breakdown of how to get nine extra Badges in NBA 2K23 MyCareer on Current Gen.
NBA 2K23 College Flashbacks Explained
The first series of objectives that players will have to complete is the College Flashbacks arc in the main story.
Essentially, there are a total of five Flashback Games in which MP reminisces about his college basketball career, allowing players to play out those memories and earn an extra Badge point for each event. The five games vary in length:
- Game 1: Second Half (from 10 points down)
- Game 2: Full Game
- Game 3: OT
- Game 4: Full Game
- Game 5: Full Game
Players will need to win each one to advance to the next. If you do lose, you'll have to replay the same game again.
The fastest way to trigger these Flashback Games is by playing until you've become a starter in the NBA, then simulating your NBA games until around the end of January. At this point, a pop-up will appear mentioning that you've unlocked the ability to play them.
Before or after each game, players will receive a dialogue choice in which they have to select either a Motivator or Trailblazer response. This ultimately narrows down what type of Badges players will randomly receive after the game.
A Motivator response grants a Defense/Rebounding or Playmaking Badge, while Trailblazer responses give either a Shooting or Finishing Badge.
It's also worth mentioning that sometimes you'll have to play 1-3 NBA games to unlock the next Flashback Game. Once all of the games are completed, players will have acquired five extra Badges in total.
'Impressing the Billionaire' NBA 2K23 Quest Guide: How to Complete
To get the last four extra Badge points, players will need to complete the "Impressing the Billionaire" quest given by Tomas on the Platinum Deck: Trips
section of the cruise ship.
After completing Rival Quests until they've done three for Sam, players can head back to Tomas to receive the Increased Badge Cap reward.
