'I don't see a reason to hide': Golnesa 'GG' Gharachedaghi reveals why she did not hide using 'Ozempic'

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi, known for her appearance on the reality show 'Shahs of Sunset', faced criticism after openly admitting to using diabetes medication for weight loss in March. In a lengthy video posted on her Instagram, she even demonstrated the process of injecting the drug into her stomach.

When asked why she didn't keep it a secret, Gharachedaghi expressed on Entertainment Tonight, "I don't see a reason to hide being on a weight loss [medication] or a cosmetic procedure, just talk about it because there's so many people out there who want to do the same thing or they want to learn about what you did."

'Obviously, I didn't look like this two months ago'

Ozempic (semaglutide), an FDA-approved prescription drug commonly used for managing excessive blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes, was the medication Gharachedaghi revealed she was taking. "Obviously, I didn't look like this two months ago. So all of a sudden to lose almost 30 pounds, I would be a liar to say I quit drinking alcohol and you know all of a sudden started working out like some people like to say," the reality star clarified.

Despite using the diabetes drug, Gharachedaghi admitted that she still experiences hunger. "I'm actually a little hungry. Look, I'm gonna go smoke a little pot, and I'm gonna eat definitely," she added jokingly.

'I'm not sure why so many people deny taking the shots'

In the video, captioned, "I'm not sure why so many people deny taking the shots. Y'all can judge in the comments section below, but for those interested in trying this, you should hit up my doctor @tabasum and get started," Gharachedaghi received a mixed response. She held an injection shot in her hand while revealing that she was undergoing weight loss due to steroid intake following health issues that caused her to gain weight.

'I am on the weight loss, honey'

Acknowledging her struggle to shed the extra weight, Gharachedaghi confessed, "I did what all the people were doing and lying about it. I am on the weight loss, honey," as she displayed the drug to the camera. She stated, "I'm just not gonna lie about it because I always keep it real about what is fake." Prior to using the drug, Gharachedaghi weighed 137 lbs, and by February 26, she had reached 126 lbs. She also mentioned, "I have never, ever in my life been over 121-122 lbs, other than being pregnant, so that may not seem like a lot to some people, but for me, it really is." Addressing those who claim to have quickly achieved sudden weight loss by becoming "healthy" or getting sober, Gharachedaghi remarked, "Most likely, they're just doing the shots." She emphasized, "And it's not a big deal. It's really not. We know who you are. We see how skinny y'all are getting. It's not rocket science."

'I loved about you from day one is how you're always transparent'

Gharachedaghi's doctor supported her and commended her transparency. The doctor commented, "Golnesa!!! The thing I loved about you from day one is how you're always transparent about everything from your health struggles to plastic surgery." She continued, "This is a wonderful video. I'm so happy you're losing the weight that you put on with all of your health issues, and I'm so happy to be your doctor helping you on this journey." The doctor added, "Putting on all that weight is really detrimental to your emotional health. I see it with so many people... This really is an easy and safe way to lose weight effectively. There should be no shame in this, and you're one of the best patients I have!!! Love you."
