LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NBC’s flagship morning show ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna’ is a breath of fresh air for its viewers. They adore Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. The two hosts uplift the spirit of everyone watching with their warm and friendly personalities and lively persona. When one of them is unavailable to host the show, there is a whiff of skepticism as to how will the rest of the ‘Today’ morning pan out. But the producers do find a way.
In the latest episode of ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna', the latter was missing from the telecast without any reason given for her absence. Jenna was replaced by renowned comedian Joel McHale who is widely known for hosting 'The Soup' and for his role as Jeff Winger on the NBC sitcom 'Community'. Smiling, Hoda entered the studio with Joel and introduced him to the viewers but Joel was in a groovy mode, cracking jokes, and to everyone’s surprise, said he was “drunk”.
'I got drunk before the show, just like you guys'
Joel has been a comedian for over 20 years and his wit is unparalleled. From the moment Hoda introduced him to the audience, the comedian went berserk with his jokes, even insinuating that Hoda and Jenna get drunk every morning before hosting their show. Hoda gave Joel a warm welcome. “This is Joel, Joel McHale.” “It's me, yes!" Joel said as he followed Hoda to the show's desk. “He's filling in for our pal Jenna," Hoda continued as she sat down. "Yeah, welcome to the ninth hour of the Today show, everybody,” Joel replied.
He then continued his groove with one joke after the other until landing on the big one. “I dressed like a real estate agent from Miami for this," he continued, referring to the black and white suit jacket and dress shirt he was wearing. "You look sharp," Hoda complimented him. "Well, I got drunk before the show, just like you guys," he joked. "Is Kathie Lee still here?” He didn’t stop here and said, “You alone got so much wine pushed on you and so much of America responded.” The cat was surely out of the bag since Joel’s jokes did get a hearty laugh out of Hoda.
Jenna fixes her wardrobe malfunction
Jenna was a victim of a wardrobe malfunction in one of the recent episodes of ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna’ after she hastily fixed her bra strap that fell down her shoulder on live TV. Jenna and Hoda were trying a lemon-squeezing hack when her bra strap and dress sleeve started to slide down her shoulder. She started to grab at it and fix it while talking about the supposed hack. "Here's the thing, y'all! We don't need a hack for everything.” She then stood up and tried to straighten out her dress.
