NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The financial situation of the Republican Party is causing growing concern among party members, advisers to former President Donald Trump, and other operatives involved in the 2024 election effort, as reported by 10 individuals familiar with the matter.

On October 30, the Republican National Committee revealed that it had $9.1 million in cash on hand, the lowest amount for the RNC in any Federal Election Commission since 2015.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her take on the matter.

However, the internet took a brutal jab at former President Donald Trump instead.

Laura Ingraham calls drop in GOP donations a ‘real problem’

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “This is a real problem.”

Ingraham’s tweet featured an article from the Washington Post titled, “Donations to GOP drop as worries mount about the party’s finances.”

In the article, it was reported that many large donors haven’t cut large checks to the RNBC and the party is suffering.

The financial state of the Republican National Committee has raised concerns, as it revealed a cash-on-hand amount of $9.1 million as of October 30.

This marks the lowest reported figure for the RNC in any Federal Election Commission report since February 2015.

In comparison, at the same point in the 2016 election cycle, the RNC had about $20 million, and four years ago, during Trump's presidency, it had approximately $61 million.

In contrast, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) reported a healthier financial position with $17.7 million as of October 30, nearly double the amount of the Republican Party, despite being one year away from the election.

In this regard, RNC member Oscar Brock said, “It’s a revenue problem. We’re going through the same efforts we always go through to raise money: the same donor meetings, retreats, digital advertising, and direct mail. But the return is much lower this year. If you know the answer, I’d love to know it. The staff has managed to tighten down on expenses to keep the party from going into the red.”

Besides, recent years have seen a decrease in large donations to the Republican National Committee coupled with challenges in the party's small-dollar program, according to anonymous sources familiar with the RNC's finances.

Some donors are holding back due to concerns that their contributions may indirectly support Donald Trump, while others prefer to wait until the 2024 election.

Frustration with the party's leadership has also been cited as a factor by certain major donors.

Internet accuses Donald Trump of ‘bleeding GOP dry’

After Laura Ingraham reported on the RNC’s drop in donations, the internet went on to slam former President Donald Trump as the tension between him and Ronna McDaniel escalated.

One person wrote, “Local GOPs across the country are nearly bankrupt because of Trump. The sooner he is gone from the party, the sooner the GOP can start rebuilding.”

Another slammed Trump and McDaniels adding, “Until both Ronna and Trump are out of the GOP - I am not spending a penny on this party,” and one more said, “I'm not giving any more $ until I know for a fact it's not going to be used on MAGA candidates, especially Trump.”

An X user simply took a jab at Trump, “Everyone knows that Trump is bleeding the GOP dry by using donations meant for party & campaign building for his personal expenses.”

One more person wrote, “Nobody wants to pay Trump's legal bills,” and another added, “Dump Trump and maybe we’ll start sending money again. Maybe.”
