LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of 'Saturday Night Live' (SNL) hosted by Timothee Chalamet, comedian Chloe Fineman donned the role of Britney Spears for a skit about her new memoir, sparking backlash from the pop star's manager, Cade Hudson.
The sketch, which involved satirical celebrity auditions for the narration of Spears' memoir, 'The Woman in Me', was also slammed by the Internet as it seemed to be poking fun at the singer's traumatic experiences.
Spears' much-anticipated memoir quickly claimed the charts after its release on October 24, selling a million copies within a week, as per Fortune.

Taking to Instagram, Cade Husdon wrote, "Wow. The writers of @SNL are getting worse and worse. No wonder you all reached out to me to get Britney on the show … [SNL] is on life support."
Hudson's post didn't spare Chloe Fineman, the comedian behind the Britney Spears impersonation, whom he deemed unfunny and even questioned her casting, stating, "You all are pathetic and this Chloe [Fineman] isn’t funny. Did you find her on Craigslist or something?"

In the three-minute skit, Chloe Fineman, in the character of Britney Spears, was seen celebrating the success of 'The Woman in Me' and holding celebrity auditions for the audiobook narration.
The comedic readings from various celebrities included Allison Janney, Martin Scorsese, John Mulaney, and Fred Schneider of The B-52s, among others.
Moreover, the parody didn't just target the pop star as it took aim at the celebrities themselves, incorporating jokes about Jada Pinkett Smith's memoir promotion amid her separation from Will Smith, Mulaney's use of personal struggles in his comedy, and even a playful jab at the host, Timothee Chalamet, suggesting he "can't read."
The inspiration for the skit reportedly stemmed from viral audio clips of Michelle Williams reading the book, imitating Justin Timberlake's past use of African-American Vernacular English (AAVE).
While Spears' manager, Cade Hudson, voiced his strong disapproval, the pop icon herself has remained silent on the matter.

Cade Hudson's disapproval of Saturday Night Live's parody of Britney Spears' memoir stirred a strong reaction from the netizens.
One user wrote, "Ohhhh the manager had to end the show," as another said, "britney should file a lawsuit against SNL. That's tampering."
