RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL: Taylor Swift is overwhelmed with the "divine" welcome she received in Brazil.
On November 16, Brazil honored the pop icon as she landed for the next step of her Eras Tour in Rio de Janeiro by projecting a 'Welcome to Brasil' shirt inspired by her Junior Jewels shirt from her 'You Belong With Me' music video on the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.
A mass fan campaign by Brazil Swifties made this happen after they flooded the social media accounts of Padre Omar Raposo, rector of the sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer, requesting permission.
Swifties fulfilled his demand and donated "more than 20,000 units of panettone and mineral water" before 9 pm November 16.
Swift has three shows at the Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio from November 17 to 19, and from November 24 to 26, she will perform in Sao Paulo.
Taylor Swift feels 'unworthy' of the unique honor
Swift addressed the crowd on the first day of the concert in Rio, saying that the special welcome was the "nicest thing" anyone has ever done for her.
"I just want to start off by saying that I feel completely unworthy of this honor but it is sort of the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me," the 'Anti-Hero' singer said.
"And I say that because I heard that part of why this was able to happen is because so many of you donated food and water and that makes me so incredibly proud," she added.
She thanked everyone for their kindness and for being a part of her concert.
"Thank you so much for everything that you do, including showing up tonight and being so nice to us!" she said.
During her 'Evermore' piano segment, she told the cheering crowd that she did not believe the projection was real and thought it was photoshopped.
"I saw something that I did not quite believe when I saw it. People kept sending me pictures of this image, and I kept writing back, 'no, there's no way that that's real.'"
The fully packed stadium was in an adrenaline rush throughout the concert, singing with their favorite star and screaming excitedly when she thanked them for the honor at one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Brazilian Swifties consider Swift the most deserving person honored at the Christ statue. They praised her humbleness as she called herself "unworthy" of the honor.
One fan wrote, "Awwww the most humble my TayTay."
Another one said, "She's so humble I love her."
"I KNEW SHE WOULD," said a third user.
A fourth one said, "UNWORTHY? she is the ENTIRE music industry."
"She's the sweetest," stated another user.
