LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Singer Billie Eilish has opened up about her insecurities and womanhood in a new interview for Variety's Power of Women issue. The 21-year-old superstar also talked candidly about her sexuality and body.

The 'Bad Guy' singer was transparent about complicated feelings about her own womanhood and the "unfair" experiences of "being a young woman in the public eye."

Eilish rose to fame at age 13 when her track 'Ocean Eyes,' which she recorded with her older brother Fiennes, went viral on SoundCloud. Her adolescent years were subjected to "weird and upsetting" scrutiny regarding her dating life, sexuality, and even the outfits she wore.

Billie Eilish says she never felt 'desirable'

Eilish was always spotted wearing oversized outfits. People often criticized her dressing style. However, the singer finally revealed what led her to wear those clothes.

"I wasn't trying to have people not sexualize me," she told Variety. "But I didn't want people to have access to my body, even visually. I wasn't strong enough and secure enough to show it. If I had shown it at that time, I would have been completely devastated if people had said anything."

The interview had more astonishing revelations about Eilish's perception of herself.

The Grammy Award winner was straightforward while revealing why she was least bothered about "being sexualized."

"Maybe my not really caring about being sexualized is because I've never felt desired or desirable. I've never felt like a woman, to be honest with you. I've never felt desirable. I've never felt feminine. I have to convince myself that I'm, like, a pretty girl. I identify as 'she/her' and things like that, but I've never really felt like a girl."

For Eilish, her "life became so adult very young" as she realized that she has a "whole life" to do things and it is unnecessary to settle like before.

A user said, "Tbh I do understand her."

"I understand this so much…" stated one user. While another user said, "I felt this on another level."

"It's so real bc some people will never felt desirable even if they're absolutely pretty… mainly due to insecurities," noted another one.
